do you wear those clogs?

Published

hey everyone:

just curious how many of you wear those "nursing clog" shoes at work.

I wear sneakers and have tried clogs on a few times, but I don't know how anyone could wear them all day!

i always trip when i wear those clogs. we call them Crocks, not sure if that is what they are really called.

but anway...i wear Danskos. Best invention in the world!!! if you have flat feet, you will like Danskos. Some people take a while to break them in. I only had to wear them once and they were broken in. i could wear them all day, everyday and not even know im wearing shoes.

LOOOOOVE my Danskos!

Hi- Anyone try the Alegria shoes and how they rate on comfort? I've seen a lot of nurses and staff start wearing them at the hospital, but have not tried them. I don't know if people are just buying them for the looks or if they're really comfortable.

I love my Alegria shoes! They are very comfortable and stylish. I wear them in the ED for 12 hr shifts and my feet and legs never hurt.

I wear running sneakers (Asics) with high impact insoles.

I have been wearing clogs of one brand or another (lots of Danskos, but others, too) pretty much since about 1981. In early years I sometimes had to get a doctor's note to get 'permission' to wear them. I had bunion surgery in 1986 and have worn clogs almost exclusively since then.

I had to mail-order them for a while in the late 80's and 90's when no one was carrying them. Then, summer of 1997 I worked in Oxford, PA where the factory outlet store was. Bought at least 4-5 pairs that year!!!

How do you run to a code in those things? Up the stairs too?

Even though I worked for a big city fire department, they had very lax rules concerning footwear (not changed til 2009!!!). I used to wear Dansko mary janes when i was on the medic unit and could run just fine.

They come in different widths. I could see them coming off if you have narrow feet and don't get the narrow width. Only the heal is free, not the entire foot. They are used pretty standardly in the service industry. Never came off my feet for codes, backwards bed moving, etc.

I trip in Crocs also! Never knew that anyone else had that issue. Just thought I was clumsy!

I don't run anywhere, even for a code. I do walk really fast. Shoes stay on fine. Last thing I need is to completely blow-out my knee.

I wear Sanita Clogs. Awesome. No more knee and hip pain after a shift. Going to get another pair for my winter shoes this year.

I can sprint pretty good down the OR hallway in them. I would never be without my Danskos either. My legs and feet don't ache at all. They are not for everyone, but 99% of the OR staff and docs wear them. When I worked on the floor and while I was in school I also tried Birks...my feet, legs, and back hurt so bad. Same with tennis. I own a lot of Danskos...oy!
