OK, we got in, but now what? I am a detail orientated person and I want info! When can I start picking up things I need? What are those items?
I have really lost it! I went from thinking about getting in to wondering what to do/what to read/what to buy before class starts.
And how big of a backpack do we REALLY need?
Anybody out there from CLC have any advice? Help me before my family moves out of the house permanently (wait...maybe that would be a good thing:devil:)!
I start my vacation next week until the end of the year, but I don't think it will be much of a "vacation" next week!!!
Monday I will probably be going in to have my titres done at the Lab and also, at the same time, I need to have my daughter tested for allergies. Tuesday I have to go and get my TB test checked and the second one done on my other arm and then after that, I have to go to my doctors office for my physical. I may meet up with some friends for lunch since we decided not to venture out today due to the beautiful weather we are having. Hmmmm...I may actually have nothing going on Wednesday, Thursday, have my second TB test checked and Friday, I will be dropping my daughter off at daycare and baking all day with my niece!!! The following week, my daughter will be home with me all week long...can't wait!! I'm sure I'll have a heck of a time dropping her off at daycare when I go back to work!
Now, don't get me wrong, I am ready and excited to start school, but I feel like this time is going by so fast. I am trying to enjoy it, but the 7th is right around the corner and then the 23rd is not far off from that! Just trying to make the best of my time!!!
Ok...question. Will my doctor do a hearing test at the physical? I haven't had on in forever!!! If not, where do I do that?
yeah - it's navy blue with snaps down the front. it has 3 pockets at the front hips. it is made by cherokee. i don't know if we wear anything under it or not.
you can wear a white long sleeved shirt under your blue clc shirt if you want. for your clinicals you spend the first half of the semester at an extended care facility where it's usually warm and the second half in the hospital where it's usually cold. that was our experience.
okay ladies, have you packed away all your blue pens? i'm unloadin' my pencil bag today. i kind of feel lost, not having anything i should be reading right now. i'm waiting for a book from the library, it's the one someone suggested-drugs calcs. made easy.
i had plans today, my first day with no studying, no one is supposed to be here, dh got called for work early, got excited to have a "free day" and the kids all have a snow/ice day. i feel like i'm going thru some kind of nesting thing, but, it has to do with getting set up for jan. i have been trying to get more organized, menu plans, photos, paperwork, etc. and i really need to do this before classes start. it all just clutters my mind. are any of you having these anxious type feelings now?
vicki
if you want you can get your module packet and start going through the first couple including the drug calc. module. just a suggestion.
hi again everyone,i just called to set up the appointment for the physical, i can't get in until the 3rd of jan. we don't need the pap do we? i looked up the genitourinary exam on line and it looks more like just a physical exam & i do not see a spot for any pap results on the green form. i'm just worried that the results won't be back in time- tried to call the school with no answer. i'm getting the "full service" anyway, maybe it doesn't have to be complete(w/ results) til the 23rd.
any thoughts????? also, do we need an actual vision/hearing test?
and yes boni - i am waiting for that book.
you don't need a pap, hearing or visual test. i had a standard physical from my doctor's office faxed to clc and it was fine.
Ugh...I thought this week would never come. I have one exam left for Wed am. I was supposed to take it Monday nite, but my son had his Christmas program.
I have my physical on Thursday. After that I'm done with all that stuff.
So we can get the module now?? I was told that books and stuff would not be available to purchase until the 2nd or 3rd (I forget which).
My son had a doctors appt today, I spent the hour and a half ride going through dosage calculations. I bought a book 2 months ago. I was worried about them to begin with, but I don't think it will be my biggest worry.
Anyway...Tonite I plan on finishing up my son's school newsletter - I tried to find another sucker (oops...Mom) to take it over, but no luck. I keep thelling those Moms that this is my last year! Then we are going to watch Transformers.
I still have ALL my Christmas shopping to do. My kids don't need/want much so this year it's harder.
Anybody else pick up their top yet??
What's the #1 thing you are hoping to get for Christmas?? Mine is a new tail pipe for my '73 VW Thing!!

My #1 thing on my Christmas list was taken care of yesterday. The other day on the PDA & Nursing thread of this forum, someone posted that Staples had the Palm T/X on sale. Using a couple of online coupon codes (which the poster supplied) really reduced the regular price (from $299 down to $179). Only problem was that when I went online to buy it they were out of stock. So I called the 800#, and a lovely lady looked up in their system to find if any of the local stores carried them. Mundelein had a couple so I called and they held one for me. Best part is they honored the online coupon codes. I am now the proud owner of a brand new Palm!!! Stapes offers a 14 day "no-questions-asked-money-back-guarantee", so I think I've talked my hubby into the importance of letting me play with it before Christmas because I will need to know for sure if I really, really like it before the 14 days are up, right? Technically it's supposed to be my Christmas present from my hubby, but last night he said he wasn't really going to consider it my present because it's really more of a tool for school. Hmmm... does that mean I might get another present then;)?!?

on the green form, the nurse at the health center pointed out only the top portion that needs to be filled out by whoever does your physical. no, you do not need a pap done. it asks for latest dental exam, eye and hearing. at my physical they just asked when i last had it done and penciled in 20/20. i had a pap done anyway since it had been years since i had a physical or a pap. (pap was normal & i also was tested for the hpv virus - also negative which means i won't need another pap for 3 years). anything else on the green sheet that is "recommended" like ekg for those over 40 is not required at all. hope this helps!
