WCCCD Spring 2010 Hopefuls

Let the stalking begin. Letters should be comming out in about two weeks. Anyone else waiting? I applied with a 3.8 and 81 NET all classes done and done at WCCCD.

got my rejection letter today. sad sad sad..........

Its ok nelly123 dont give up.. the first time I applied I didnt get in and I was ready to give up.. but I stuck with it and retook micro which I had a C in, an brought my GPA up while finishing my co reqs and reapplied.. dust yourelf off and try again

Questions, what is the point system? I have a friend who was at a 48. She said the cut off was 65. I have no suggestions for her. We did not have a point system years ago. What do they base the points on?

The point system is what the nursing department is using to determine who gets in. It's a 100 point system that breaks down to max 60 pts for GPA, max 20 pts for NET (or TEAS), 10 pts for doing all pre-reqs/co-reqs at WCCCD, max 5 pts for having all co-reqs done, and max 5 points for having some sort of previous (certified) medical experience. The only thing you can really suggest is to try to re-take classes to get a higher GPA, re-take some pre- or co-reqs at WCCCD, and try to finish all of her co-reqs. Also, if she's taken the NET, she'll need to take the TEAS, since they won't accept NET scores anymore (this was the last time). :)

Thanks Tiffie1210. I prepared for this so i took bio 250 over to bring up my gpa just in case i didn't get in this go round. the next hurdle is the teas test since the no longer take the net.........congrats to you, and you are inspiration to me. i will keep trying.

Hi all,

I am currently taking all of my classes at WC3 right now and am hoping to be able to apply for either Fall 2010 or Spring 2011. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?? I currently have a 3.5 gpa with all of my co req's done. (I could have been applying for spring if I wasn't so scared of taking my science classes!:p) I am currently enrolled in A&P1 starting next week. Any advice would be good advice. I also heard that there is a two year waiting list but last time I checked that wasn't true. Did I miss something??

Well, you should try as hard as you can and try to get an A in ur science class because they have a major impact on your acceptance- Also there is no waiting list at WCCCD- ur either in or out!

Thanx for replying!! I am definitely going to try to get an A out of all my science classes. I am applying to more than one program though just to keep my options open. I would love to go to WC3 though seeing as though thats where I have been all this time. Hopefully I'll have good news soon like everyone else :)
