good luck and try your best! Aim to get a very high GPA and get all A's in all ur classes because your GPA account for 60 points in the new point system (and thats alot). Also be patient with WCCCD

Hi all,
I am currently taking all of my classes at WC3 right now and am hoping to be able to apply for either Fall 2010 or Spring 2011. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?? I currently have a 3.5 gpa with all of my co req's done. (I could have been applying for spring if I wasn't so scared of taking my science classes!) I am currently enrolled in A&P1 starting next week. Any advice would be good advice. I also heard that there is a two year waiting list but last time I checked that wasn't true. Did I miss something??

Seconding Me2006 re: trying for the A in the sciences. Of course, you'll want to keep your GPA as high as possible. Keep in mind that they consider two GPAs: the GPA of your pre-reqs only, and the GPA of your pre- and co-reqs, and they use whichever is higher.

Keep in mind that some schools require that you complete 12 credits there before applying for their nursing program. (WCCCD is one of them, but since you're already there, it doesn't matter for you, heh.)

Unfortunately, I don't think you'll be able to make Fall 2010 or Spring 2011: you won't have all pre-reqs done by the end of February, the deadline for Fall 2010, or June, the deadline for Spring 2011. If you have Micro and all of your other classes done, though, and you just need to finish AP I and AP II, you might be able to make it in time for Fall 2011, though! :)

Thanxx for letting me know! I was being hopeful because I was prepared to take some Summer classes as well! But anytime is a good time I guess. I will just keep working at it. I know for some schools I have already completed the pre req's once I finish A&P and for one I believe even without it. I am going to be applying everywhere that I can though just to keep the options open. Any other schools you would suggest??
