Hi I'm starting this thread for all those who were accepted to the nursing program at WCCCD fall 2014, or anyone who is currently in the program. We can post any questions or comments leading up to or during the program to help each other out. Good luck evryone!!
I am officially accepted as an alternate for the Fall 2014 semester! I am a little behind everyone. I dont have my orientation and registration until August 15, so Im a little nervous. One question, for anyone who has any insight...If youre not immune for Hep B, but youve began your series, and intend to finish it throughout the recommended Hep B time frame, will they accept you or does the series have to be complete at the time clinical begins?
I had the same question and I was told (and since I am continuing in the program I assume it is correct) that as long as you started the series it was fine. The shots are given now, at 1 month and then at 5 or 6 months. Some advice that I think we ALL could have used...verify your drug screen!! I think all of us had issues with it and maybe we can save you some aggravation!!!! Good luck!!
Future RN 0711 My email address is [email protected] Any thing pertaining to the nursing program tat you can email me would be helpful. Like the supply list the book list or the requirements before orientation
Agreed. If anyone can email me any information they got at the orientation, I would be very grateful. Im an alternate, and our orientation isnt until the 15th, which doesnt leave us much time til we start.
I ordered my scrubs, name tag, and have all of my paperwork filled out but other than that, Im at a loss.

I was in the same situation with my hep B vaccinations, I started the series when I was very young but my mom never went back so I could finish .......but anyway long story short I had to show proof that I had taken the rest of the vaccinations, but it should be ok as long as they know you started them.
