Hi I'm starting this thread for all those who were accepted to the nursing program at WCCCD fall 2014, or anyone who is currently in the program. We can post any questions or comments leading up to or during the program to help each other out. Good luck evryone!!

Have anybody started to prepare? Like reading pharm book? Or anything like that?
I just ordered the Mosby's pharmacology notecards book online. I'm going to start studying that this week
I ordered that book and it came last week! It's a really cool book. I thought it would be bigger but it's compact it can fit in a small purse. I've already started studying the book. I've also started to review drug calculations. It's this nice website called dosagehelp.com (I don't know it you heard of it already) but if you haven't check it out and see what you time.
Also my friend just graduated from the program and she said that she started studying from the Saunders nclex-rn book (the yellow book) and she said it has very similar question to the one that will be on the test In the nursing program. I haven't ordered that book yet but I will.
What else should we be studying? Anybody have any other ideas?

I haven't started studying yet but I plan on purchasing the pharmacology flash cards this week and I'm also going to be purchasing anatomy flash cards to help brush up on my anatomy
Thanks for the info about the website I'm going to check it out. From what I hear patient assessment is pretty hard in the first semester I started watching videos on youtube. I looked up the head to toe nursing assessment. It's pretty good I haven't watched it all yet since it's 40 minutes but I'll finish it this week
Are you guys going to do the CPR training through red cross or do it at wcccd?

I just got my info packet for the orientation. Looks like we have to pick our classes on the spot. I wish we had more time to look things over!
I already have my CPR card, but I think it was through the AHA. I haven't heard anything about the one offered at WCCCD. This has been a rush getting everything done in time, but I just finished today I'm just excited to start now
It is really a rush, I was really hopping to have all my classes at the northwest campus.
I made them a copy of my BLS card but lady was saying that I need to bring in the original for them to keep, I didn't want to do that because I don't want them to loose it.
