2015 WCCCD Nursing Program Hopefuls

Published

Future RN's!

I created this forum, for us pre-Nursing students, finishing up our prereqs and preparing for the HESI and admittance into the Nursing program for 2015! Let's keep each other motivated and driven. We can do it! Hope to hear from my fellow school mates :-)

Thanks for replying myworldismusic1. I'll just have to wait and see at the info meeting I'm attending in August. When you dropped off your application, did they tell you how long it would take for them to let you know their decision?

Hi everyone I need some feed back on getting in I have

Bio 240- B

Bio 250- A

Eng 119- A

Psy 101- A

Micro 295- C

all classes taken at wcccd

Ive been a can for 10 years

and a 82% on the hesi (estimated)

Is there a chance of me getting in the program

And far as the math portion just focus on the fractions and decimals? what about the measurement conversion?

sumthinscandolous seeing as they have pushed back the deadline to September, they said expect to hear the results no sooner than the beginning of October

CNF, yes that is important information as well but I would put the majority of effort into making sure you have decimals and fractions down.

Does the nursing program only take students once a year or is it twice??

Hi CNF Clark18...I think you are ok with your grades to get in as I hear of people getting in with that same GPA. Did you complete your coreq's? If you got an A in those, they could help boost your GPA. As far as the HESI goes, it's hard to advise in this area as the HESI has not been used very long (started in Sept 2013, I believe). An 82% could be good enough for one semester but maybe not for another. It all depends on the other applicants and there credentials. There is no information about the lowest HESI score accepted into the program thus far, just a lot of here say which I won't even address. I would just aim for the highest score possible. If it's a passing score, I would apply! You can keep applying as your scores are good for 2 years I believe.

Hello Preetbrar217...they accept students twice a year in the fall and spring semesters. :)

So if you get rejected in the spring then can you apply for fall the same year?

I took the hesi exam 7/31/14 A&P=91, Reading=90, Math=56 I have to retake the whole exam over. will be studying like crazy any one else take the exam yet? what are your scores?

Any tips for the hesi exam?
