Hello to anyone who goes to WCCCD and is past their first semester. I am having a horrible time with Med.Surg. I got a 65 on my first quiz and and 72 on the first test and that makes me failing. I am so upset and I dont know what to do. I feel as though I understand the material and when it comes to the test I just freeze up and everything seems so foreign. I am so afraid to fail. PLease , anyone who can offer words of encouragement, I would appreciate it.
Also, let me add...that I am studying very hard. I don't know what else to do and I am really starting to doubt myself and thinking about remediation. I am really afraid I am going to fail. I really need some encouragement. I mean, the first quiz and test are supposed to be the easier material, it's just going to get harder...and I have to do well on everything else to pass the class. I have Desouza and I heard that "no one passes her fluid and electrolytes test" Please advise!

Have you talked to your professor and looked for help? You can't get help if you don't ask! Don't give up, use the resources that are available to you and move forward.
Thanks everyone! I not only PASSED my Fluid and Electrolyte test, I got an 86!!! I am now passing the class and I just need a 70 on the final. 2 MORE WEEKS then a month off!
:yelclap::icon_hug::cheers::monkeydance::balloons:Okay, did that say enough?!?! WHOOOO HOOOOOO. I am stoked for you!

"stoked" - adjective - to be "stoked" is to be completely and intensely enthusiastic, exhilirated, or excited about something. those who are stoked all of the time know this; being stoked is the epitome of all being. when one is stoked, there is no limit to what one can do.
Rock on!!
Now I need to go and have a big bowl of ice cream to celebrate for you.

Hey there Jillian, i really dont doubt that your studying hard but i found to help was doing a lot of the questions that were given in books like Mosbys nclex review and just doing answering a lot of the questions associated with the topic, and try not to focus on the details becouse they tend to make you look into the question. The one thing i remember about the tests are that all the questions are right, you just have to chose the MOST right .........go figure....lol i hope this helps
CORRECTION: When I self graded my exam during the last class and went by the answer key she put on the overhead, I had an 86, but apparently a couple of them were typos. When I got my grade back today, I had a 92!! 2nd highest grade in the class. I guess I finally figured it out :)
I'm jealous! Do you tutor other students? Congratz again!
hey thatnks and again good luck really dont try to loook into the answers. Look nursing is simple if you let it trust me this is literally no brain surgery here sometimes its just plain ole fasion common sense. i have tutered sure tutering is a frame of mind
