Waubonsee Community College-- Starting in Fall

Published

Hey everyone!! I just found out last week that I got accepted into Waubonsee Community College's nursing program!! I will be starting in October. Has anyone gone there? Any advice? What did your schedule look like? I am making myself crazy thinking about it. I have 3 kids that I will have to have in daycare. I wish I could know what my schedule will be now, but I won't know about the clinicals until after class starts. Any input is welcome!!!

Thanks, good luck for the spring. I know the waitlist is only for each term and doesn't rollover. They do however take into consideration when it is ones 2nd or 3rd time applying as one of the deciding factors.

The waitlist does carry through to the next semester - that is why there a full semester wait at the moment.

When I spoke with Waubonsee they said the wait list is only for the semesters fall (aug/oct) and spring (jan/march) but they said it doesn't carry from oct to jan or from march to aug but that if someone has applied before and not gotten in yet that they take that into consideration when deciding on whom to admit.

Has anyone heard anything for Jan/March??? We are on pins & needles waiting!!! I called and they said letters started going out last Friday. I sure hope he gets in.

Found out on Monday that I got in for Jan 2011! :)

Congrats to you and good luck!!!

Just found out letters go out until the middle of december. Jeez! They really like to torture you!

Nurseswif....have u heard anything? I received a letter but at post office. Kinda wanna have an idea if they are sending good letters now and Bad news ones later or at the sametime.

Nursetobeswife (& Rscodadn10-since you and I just talked yesterday...),

What I can tell you from having applied 3 times is that typically the acceptance letters go out first, then the "we are sorry..." versions. There are already 21 out of 36 spots signed up for classes for January and 10 out of 36 signed up for the March start. Plus when I went to the uniform store 10 days ago, they had already gotten one person's order for the March start.

Well my experience is you can be denied right away. I did! It's ok, what is ment to be will be. Good luck to all!

Rscod - did you pick up your letter yet?

The letters started going out on Fri Oct 29th, as confirmed to me by the nursing secretary, and I received mine on Sat Oct 30th. So what I mean is that if you do not hear within a couple of days, typically it is not good news. The previous two times that I applied, I heard about 1.5-3 weeks after some of my friends had already been accepted.
