Waubonsee Community College-- Starting in Fall

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hey everyone!! I just found out last week that I got accepted into Waubonsee Community College's nursing program!! I will be starting in October. Has anyone gone there? Any advice? What did your schedule look like? I am making myself crazy thinking about it. I have 3 kids that I will have to have in daycare. I wish I could know what my schedule will be now, but I won't know about the clinicals until after class starts. Any input is welcome!!!

Hi rdy2strt,

That is exactly consistent with my experience! I finished my prereqs in Dec 2009, and I started the program this past Jan 2011. So far so good! :)

I am hoping i got into the Spring 2012 program!!! this waiting game sucks lol.

Hello everyone,

I just came across this, as I was googling website response's on how Hard the Pax-RN test is...Thankfully I found this!! I have finished all my pre-reqs, I am now studying for the PAX-RN and I'm nervous. There's been a lot of hype about this test being very hard..... I know more people that have failed it, then people that have passed. The women who was helping me study in the learning enhancement center told me the hardest part was the vocab and that because of that section, many people are failing. So okay, can someone tell me what to expect for this test? I have been studying from the Pax-rn study book(orange one) and have been doing the practice tests on the discs. My math has really improved which I'm very happy about, but I still need more work on my vocabs and comprehension section....Will I ever feel "READY"?

Thanks all. :)

I hope you do too!! Good luck to you! :)

Just a lil info. I am not sure how they determine who gets in the program. I applied in the Fall "11" while I was in my last prerequiste class A&PII. I initially received a letter in November saying that I was missing a prequisite class which was the class that I was taking and when they received proof from me that I had passed, then they would review my application to see if there were any spots available. I passed the class, but never took the proof up to the school. I listened to what others had said that there was a waiting list to get in and others saying that they had applied 3 or 4 times before they had got in. On Jan 6, 2012, I received a letter that I had been accepted into the March class. So for me there was no wait at all. I got in the following semester. Good Luck everyone!!!!

Did you get in for Spring 2012?

Thank you so much for posting this information. Its great to hear that you got accepted so soon. I have to take my last Anatomy and Physiology class in this fall too so its nice to hear that there is a small chance to still get accepted even if you didn't finish your pre-require class before the deadlines for admissions. Who did you took ap2 with?

Scheduled to take PAX test June 29!! Woohoo!

Hi, everyone!

Im moving to the Aurora area in December and am planning to transfer my credits to waubonsee, i still have to do Bio a&p I and II, can anyone give me suggestions on when i should apply to the nursing program? once i finish with both pre-reqs or once i finish with A&P I? I'm thinking about aplying to both just in case. How is the program out there? I'm actually really looking forward to this!
