So this is a bit personal, but do you wash your hair every day after work? I can't help feeling like I have bacteria in my hair when I've been at the hospital, even though I avoid touching it. My hair is dry though and I dislike washing it every day.
Everyone's hair is different obviously. The whole "it gets less greasy the less you wash it" does NOT work for me. I just use sulfate free shampoos and I wash my hair every day. I don't have dry hair or anything invest in a sulfate free shampoo and a good conditioner.
It can take a while for the body to adjust for some people...like weeks. It is the same thing for the face actually. Stop overdrying...get rebound oil but give it time and it all balances out.
Before chemo, I had ramrod straight, super-fine hair that I worse in a bob; it was essential for me to wash it daily. Now my hair is wavy, and I only wash it twice a week. I use Deva-Curl products on it to augment the curls.
I'm not working anymore, and will once again be going through chemo. The onc. doesn't think I'll lose much hair this time...we'll see.

I know this has absolutely nothing to do with the thread, but I want to offer a heartfelt hug for this news.

I am really not knowledgeable in oncology, is it common for your hair to come back in with different texture?
So sorry to hear you are going through chemo again. Best wishes for a speedy and full recovery!
I have long (down to my pants pockets), thick, wavy hair- I have not been in a healthcare job in a couple of years, but when I do healthcare, I wash my hair every day- I change my shoes in the car, take off my scrubs as soon as I come in the house, put them into the washer immediately, wash my hands, and take a shower right away. ETA- I'm also one of those people who will NOT wear scrubs into a store, etc- I keep a change of clothes in the car for in case I need to run errands before I can get a shower.

You can try it whatever feels best. If you go cold turkey it will be quicker but for some people it can take a week or 2...others a day or 2. I did cold turkey and was good in a matter of days. I did cold turkey just to be done and not drag it out. I did it knowing i would have a few days of awful.
