Went to the local chain grocery store yesterday. It was remarkable. Every. Single. Child was wearing a mask. Not one of them was throwing a fit and they were mostly of the under 5 set. Imagine a world where the children are more mature than some of the adults.

Our 4 year old grandson is very compliant with masking...

I have yet to see a kid have a problem with masking in public. Never once, which has been remarkable to me. Doesn't mean it can't or won't happen, but it has been truly no big deal. One was excitedly showing me how his mask had Mickey Mouse on it and then proceeded to tell me all about how he washes his hands. It was adorable.

Sounds like our grandson. There's no quick hand washing either...he'll sing you right through the recommended time. Don't interrupt him or he'll start over and you'll never get out of the bathroom.

Sounds like a classic example of children teaching adults how to act.

Last week I was taking a walk and saw across the street a woman walking a big fluffy dog and a very happy cute little boy, about four, with a small fluffy dog calling her "Mommy". Both wore masks. I waved and they did too. The boy was singing, "From the oceans, to the prairies, to the Mountains white with snow."

More companies with mandatory masks in their store--to protect staff and public visiting their stores:

Albertsons: Signage has appeared at Albertsons locations telling people “Please do not enter without face mask,” and that a “face-covering must be worn by any person who enters the store.”

Costco: Customers are required to wear face coverings starting May 4. The requirement doesn’t apply to children under two years of age, or to those unable to wear a mask due to a medical condition.

Kroger: As of July 22 Kroger will require customers to wear face masks at all stores nationwide, joining their associates who continue to wear masks.

Ralphs: If customers try to enter the store without proper face coverings, store associates will ask that they return to their car to find some sort of protection.

Sam’s Club: As of July 20, Sam’s Club is requiring shoppers to wear face coverings in stores, and associates at the warehouse entrance will remind customers of the requirement. Complimentary masks will be provided if the member doesn’t have one. Or members can purchase masks in the club.

Smart & Final: The California/Arizona/Nevada grocer is requiring customers to wear masks. If they don’t have one, customers will be asked to return wearing one or to purchase one in the store.

the Fresh Market: Since April 14, customers at The Fresh Market have been required to wear face coverings in store.

Walmart: As of July 20, Walmart is requiring shoppers to wear face coverings in stores. At our local Walmart, greeters in front of the main entrance were handing out masks to people who didn’t have one, but this isn’t the case everywhere.

Whole Foods Market: Shoppers who don’t have a face-covering will be able to get a free, disposable mask from the entrance of all Whole Foods Market locations. Everyone will be expected to wear a face-covering in-store as of May 4.

These Companies Now Require Customers to Wear Masks

The only one who should be congratulated is Costco. They did the right and obvious thing months ago and took a lot of heat for it from the vicious rightwing types. All the money the Walton family has and it took them almost 3 additional months to do something this basic to protect their employees?
