Wake Tech Spring 2017 Start

Anyone submitting an application to the nursing program at WTCC this upcoming July for spring 2017? Wanted to connect with others who may be in my shoes. I'm still working on some prerequisites (TEAS and CNA) but hope to finish them up by May. I will be transferring most of my prerequisites in from another school.

Did she give you an idea of how many she thought would be accepted? I think the next round is the second week in May after spring semester.

Correction AP, you should be #7. She said she had 2 no shows and 5 alts were just accepted as if 1:40pm April 18th.

But then again, there is no telling what # the no-shows were or if they were alternates or the accepted students

When did she have two no shows? Mrs. Watkins said I'm 9...they may not have filled the 2 seats yet for the no shows. I'm feeling a little more optimistic about being accepted. Hopefully we keep moving up fast!

I feel like they hang on to seats for a while before accepting alternates. I feel like more than 5 people would have turned down their seats...she made it sound that way anyway, plus the no shows.

She didn't give me an average. She just said there are more declines in the fall and more alternates accepted. At the end of the email she said I should be hopeful. I'll take that as a good sign for us! I've also been reading past threads and it seems like we have a really good shot. I just can't wait to find out! I have a chemistry 152 test and lab practical to study for but all I can do is read past threads lol.

I didn't realize they held seats for spring students who might not of passed. How does that work? Like lets say they hold 20 seats but only 10 people need them...do the remaining seats go to the alternates?

I hope that's the way it works, but idk. She didn't tell me I should be hopeful, but I'm only 3 behind you, so hopefully it's okay. I've checked previous ones to see what the highest alternate number was to get in and I can't really find anything.

Anyways, AP, I think you should be hopeful as well! I've read and heard of people moving up 20+ spots. You're only a few spots behind me and I think we both have a really good shot. I'm going to email her again after grades are posted for an update if I haven't heard anything. Maybe we can take turns so we don't look so worrisome lol.

Lol that's the same thing I had said before orientation! I said we should all take turns so we don't look crazy haha...and then we both emailed her Friday! :laugh: I feel really hopeful! I just pray it keeps moving fast! I get my drug test tomorrow and my physical, then I will be done with my TB tests next week, and everything will be completed! Then it's just doing the med-calc homework and waiting to officially get in!

Haha thats so funny that we emailed her practically right after orientation. She is probably use to it! That's awesome that you're so on top of it! I have quite a few things to get done but hopefully by the beginning of next week I can check everything off the list!
