:angryfire So...on my registration date, I tried to do phone reg...but it wouldn't go through, not to mention that the courses I wanted (A&P, Dev Psych) were closed--no matter which course# I put in, LOL..they are filled up! Then at the end, it told me "you are not eligible for registration at this time, please see the Registrar". Ummmm, okay. So I tried online, same result. After working all day 0630-1500 and picking up my youngling, I headed on over to the college and waited in the loooong line, got up there explained the situation (and how the CLASSES WERE BEING FILLED UP, SINCE IT HAD BEEN 2 DAYS SINCE MY REG. DATE).
Well, wouldn't ya know...the college employee picks up her phone, dials the registration line, and BAM puts me in the Dev.Psych class (wrong dates and times) and her eyes at me like I was low functioning. LOL, I tell you, it DID NOT WORK the past 2 days.
Anyhoo, I ended up just enrolling in Nutrition and Developmental Psych, so that next semester I can have priority registration! Of course, I am going to show up the first night of A&P to see if I can be added, but if not...hey, I am working on 2 other courses. Just had to share my frustration.
Did everyone else get in their courses?

Oh man, that really stinks!! I hope you get in on the first night of class...I've never had that happen, but could imagine how upset you'd be!!!
I didn't have a class I HAD to take this semester...just taking Child Growth & Development to fill up my time. I'm done with pre-req's...waitng to get in now.
Thanks.
I look at the positive---all I really NEED to finish is A&P,Micro and that's it. But, what is also part of the program, are the 2 I am taking (nutrition and developmental psych) which will give me more points I guess, and take up some time. So either way, I will be on track still, and if I do it this way, somewhat ahead maybe? I had planned on finishing up A&P in Fall 07 and Spring 08, as well as Micro either Summer or Spring 08. If I don't get in to A&P,looks like i will be doing A&P in SPring 08 & Fall 08, then I can still apply for RN school in Fall 08 for a Spring admittance. LOL, the stuff we ramble about ONLY PRENURSING students would understand. My post sounds ridiculous, but I KNOW you guys understand. heehee:monkeydance:

Hi,
Why don't you think about taking A&P online. You could take it anywhere in the country that way. Lots available. Check with your school advisor to see if they accept online courses. These are legitimate courses. PEM me for more information. [email protected]

I'm waitlisted for A&P for **Spring 08** already! It's that full already! I hope you're able to get into your class, I would think that going on the first night would probably be helpful, so good idea there, I might have to do that too :)

I hear you. It took a tremendous amount of work to get the classes I needed at my university. I had been spoiled from my community college. It was so easy to get your classes there.
I eventually got all of the classes I need at the U, but not at the times I needed. Another thing I hate about the university is that many classes you have to contact the specific department and get on a wait-list...then one week before the semester starts, they place you in any section of the class they desire. You have no say in the matter.
Anyway, I just spent five hours clicking on the online registration system every 5 seconds to catch an opening where someone else just dropped. This is what the students do. You have to be really fast because sometimes one spot will open and be taken in two seconds flat.
So this is what I did all this morning. Success! After five hours, I was able to switch my nutrition class to a better time.

In my experience, I have learned the hard way that after midnight on the FIRST registration day, you have to sign up for your classes, or you risk not getting in.

Unfortunately, that's the way it is with online registration, at least at my college. They told me when I could register and at what time; I was sitting on the computer, waiting, about an hour beforehand. I was lucky in that I got in what I needed to get in, but I know that a lot of people didn't.

I was waitlisted for BIO. It was closed for the longest time, but I kept checking online and finally got on the waitlist in July. I was 7th out of 7 allowed to be on the waitlist. Perserverance paid off though because about 1 week and a half ago enough people dropped to get me into the class!! Don't give up hope!
True, I would do it that way if so allowed...but, at this school (and all of them out here in Cali, that I know of) you are given a registration date & time..at this CC you are only given a date, and cannot register BEFORE that. So, I was 08/15, and others *even my coworker* got like 08/14 and 08/10 etc. LOL, so it sucks.
I think I can add if people drop or DONT EVEN SHOW UP to the first class. That is how cut throat they are, if you aren't there the first meeting, BUH-BYE!:monkeydance: But I agree with that, because those classes are high priority, so I have my fingers crossed.
Good luck! I bet you'll get in.

Amen. Most schools assign a day based on your status with the college. IE: Honors, last semester, limited access programs, returning students, new students, and open. In that order at my school.
At my school, to be assured you get the ones you want at the times you want, be ready with a list of specific id number for the class, and plug it in asap. I spend a few hours the week before planning my schedule and having the course id numbers for the specfic class and time ready to copy and paste.
A bit overkill, but it worked the first time around. Some of the better professors are full by 2am.
