Waiting on Ivy Tech acceptance letters thread

Published

I thought it might be nice to have a place for us to vent our frustrations with waiting until May 30th or so when letters start going out. I know I'm going nuts already!

How about introductions and a little info about each person?

I'm applying to both Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence for the Fall 2009 ASN programs. I turned in my apps this week with 4 As on the pre-reqs and a 90.0 on the TEAS. My eventual goal is at least getting a BSN, and if I feel like doing homework long enough, an MSN of some sort. I work full time now, but will hopefully only work part time if I get accepted. I'm so antsy to start preparing and finally feel like all of this is real!

Davilyn,

That stinks! It can be so hard to keep allt he rules and regualtions straight, especially when everyone you talk to gives you a different answer!

Davilyn,

I am so sorry. That really stinks. Is there any way to appeal it? If not, did you get into the LPN?

Davilyn,

That stinks! Every campus seems to have its own requirements, and some will look stuff up on their own and some won't. Hang in there!

colt63 - Congrats!! Are you going to go to Bloomington or a different campus?

IndyIvy - Yay! I'm glad you got in at Bloomington even if you're not going to be going here :)

My Bloomington letter is finally in my anxious little hands! When I opened it and unfolded it, it had different wording than the Indy letter and I FREAKED out for half a second until I read a little bit further ;P

We don't have our orientation until July 17th, that's like 90 years away it seems like!

I don't know if it's the same for other campuses, but Bloomington's letter has some information about uniforms - they want us to order 2 uniforms and it'll be about $200. Jeeze, are they gold plated??

Which rolling backpack did you buy? One from a website or one that you found in an irl store? I've got a few bookmarked so far, but it's hard to decide since I can't see and touch them.

I've rounded up my Hep B vaccine records + titer, and my records from my tetorifice shot back in 2004. I'm doing my CPR class this morning.

I've got tons of things like stethoscopes and bp cuffs bookmarked, but I don't want to buy any of them until I know if there are any specific requirements.

Lennon,

I got this one: http://www.ebags.com/jansport/driver_8_limited_time_offer/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=20186&lastterm=jansport%20driver%208

It's all black, Jansport brand (I've always had good luck with them). This is my first rolling back pack so we'll see. It has lots of room and seems sturdy. I liked the eBags site also. I try to shop online whenever possible.

I think that was one of the ones I have bookmarked! Once you get it, let me know what you think before I spend that much money, you know, since I have to buy gold plated uniforms ;P

I'M IN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got my acceptance letter for the Bloomington ASN program.

Congrats Colt63!!!! :yeah::yeah:

I got my letter from Madison and did not make it:bluecry1:

I'm so sorry davilyn :( I know that is a huge disappointment. We are all here for you. {{hugs}}

YAYAY LENNON!!! There was never any doubt but I'm so thrilled for you! So glad you can feel at ease now. Guess we aren't going to get to steal you at Indy, huh? :) I know the Indy group will miss you but we all know Btown was your first choice. I'm so, so happy that everything worked out as you were hoping. Your hard work definitely paid off! Congrats again and enjoy celebrating!

I already have it. I bought it several weeks ago when I was itching to buy a stethoscope....Bought the bag instead :) I think eBags has free returns so if you aren't happy you can ship it right back. I haven't used mine yet..using my old bag for summer courses so my rolly bag is all fresh and shiny new for the nursing program (toldja I was a dork!). I did examine it pretty closely though when it came and I was happy. I am really picky about bags and back packs and did a lot of searching before choosing that. I'd recommend it!

Congrats Lennon!!! Glad you got your Bton letter! Also congrats to everyone who's gotten letters so far!
