I thought it might be nice to have a place for us to vent our frustrations with waiting until May 30th or so when letters start going out. I know I'm going nuts already!
How about introductions and a little info about each person?
I'm applying to both Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence for the Fall 2009 ASN programs. I turned in my apps this week with 4 As on the pre-reqs and a 90.0 on the TEAS. My eventual goal is at least getting a BSN, and if I feel like doing homework long enough, an MSN of some sort. I work full time now, but will hopefully only work part time if I get accepted. I'm so antsy to start preparing and finally feel like all of this is real!
Don't worry, your not the only one that feels that way. We have done all that we can do, it is out of our hands. I worry over stupid things like, the fact that I retook English 111 this semester for an "A" which I got and I think-- I hope they don't look at my old English 111 which was a "B". I hope they realize I retook this class. Like they have never had that situation before. silly worrying.
I have been worried about the same exact thing! I highlighted the right one on my first transcript but the second one with spring grades was sealed so I didn't on that one. I was told by the secretary that they'd only use the second one for spring grades but I won't feel better til it's done. Glad I'm not the only one finding things to fret about :)
Ugh, I should have demanded it! Good for you for sticking to your guns...
I guess I just have to tell myself that the only way that will matter is if I get neither an acceptance or rejection letter - that would mean they completely dismissed it. Since it's such an important thing, I'm hoping they would call if they did have a problem with it. I just hate that I've had an unsettled feeling ever since!!!
Ok, I am in serious panic mode now...last week I tried to drop my spring transcript off in Indy and they were closed, I remember a post that said the last day we had to turn them in was the 18th...today, I have called and vm says they are out of the office until the 20th...I emailed and got an autoreply that they were out until the 20th. I know I was told by the dept. chair when I turned my application in that they would look up the grades, and even the Muncie chair said they would have looked up my grades when I gave them my spring transcript last week...
Angie K. was in the office when I turned in my app and said they would look them up....but I am still in a panic right now!

I am 100% positive at Evansville Ivy Tech the Nursing Dept, retrieves the copy of spring transcript. The only transcript you have to get to them is if you took your classes at a different college (Non-Ivy Tech school). I took all of my classes at Ivy Tech, so when I turned in my application on April 1st, I gave them the application, unofficial ivy transcript, & copy of teas test. They said they would obtain a updated transcript(from registrar's office) After the semester was finished. I would think all the Ivy Tech's would be the same.

There is a major discrepancy on this. At the info sessions A.K. said at least twice, and again when I asked her in person, that we MUST turn in spring transcripts if the prereqs are one them, even if we're taking all classes at IT. HOWEVER!!! There is a packet of info that was handed out at the info sessions and sitting with the applications outside the nursing office that says the nursing office WILL look up spring grades. So don't panic. If for some minute chance you get denied because of this, you can march that packet right up to them and show them where they said they would check your grades for you. Also, you can always put your transcript under the nursing office door as well, and if you are still worried you can email the secretary or one of the chairs today to let them know you did have it in by the deadline.
I have the same FAQ packet--it says "The Nursing dept. will enter your final grades in May." So you should be just fine.
Hey will all of you who will be getting in and starting in the fall still hang out here? It always seems like once people get in, they stop posting here pretty much. . . but me and a few others who aren't applying yet will want to hear all about how things are going for all of you, and any tips and advice you have after your first semester! :wink2:
Thank You for all your replies! So I decide to fax my the unofficial copy of my transcript over, and of course...the fax line is BUSY! I think I am going to be ill!!!
csab...I promise, if I get in, I will be happy to answer questions, I feel like I have no idea what to expect and if I can help, I'd be happy to!

the same thing happened to me!! They printed an unofficial one to save me money and I'm like I will spend a lousy five bucks just give me an official one. After about fifteen minutes I was sick of it and told them I could really care less about the opinion on the topic and that they would give me an official one if I had to stand there all day. They gave it to me but I have a feeling I didn't make any friends in the registrars office! They really shouldn't be telling us what we need.
