Waiting on Ivy Tech acceptance letters thread

Published

I thought it might be nice to have a place for us to vent our frustrations with waiting until May 30th or so when letters start going out. I know I'm going nuts already!

How about introductions and a little info about each person?

I'm applying to both Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence for the Fall 2009 ASN programs. I turned in my apps this week with 4 As on the pre-reqs and a 90.0 on the TEAS. My eventual goal is at least getting a BSN, and if I feel like doing homework long enough, an MSN of some sort. I work full time now, but will hopefully only work part time if I get accepted. I'm so antsy to start preparing and finally feel like all of this is real!

Hi everyone, well since I am only taking Medical Term this summer I really haven't much to say, but I have a questions because I feel like my life is hanging on a string here for the next 25 days and trying to get a grip! I am new to Indiana and I only applied to two IvyTech locations-Did any of you applied at others schools? Are there any other options for your ASN? I am aware of UI, anything else? Did anyone apply to LPN?

Hi sunshine,

I only applied to Indy but did attend a Columbus info session. If I don't make the Fall cut for Indy, I'll take the TEAS again and apply to both campuses for Spring.

I only applied to the ASN program at the Fort Wayne campus, so I certainly feel like I put all my eggs in one basket. Nothing to do but wait now.

I only applied to Evansville campus, the next closest campus is Terre Haute which is 2 hrs away. I applied to RN & LPN. I'm bummed out they are only taking 35 RNs this fall & 20 LPNs. I was expecting them to take alot more than that

I definitely put all my eggs in one basket. Only applied to ASN at the Lawrence campus in Indy. We shall see. I spent a lot f time researching IUPUI's second degree BSN program. If I don't get in this fall, I plan to reapply to Lawrence for the spring and perhaps revisit the other program. I really just want to get into Lawrence in the fall and get started!

Also, I sent micro info to everyone who has asked so far. Please let me know if you didn't get it or if you can't open docx files.

WOW. Just ordered my Micro textbook yesterday from the online Ivy Tech bookstore--it arrived just a few minutes ago...less than 24 hours from the time I placed the order. Impressive!

What does the cover look like? does it have two satellite things on the front?

Cool! I ordered my Chem books through half.com on Mon night. Saved myself a ton of money, gotta love that! Fingers crossed they'll get here on time. I'm holding out on the Micro book as I've heard my prof doesn't really use it. If that is the case, I'm going to get off CHEAP this summer on books! Woot! :yeah:

Susan,

I got my chem book Mon night on amazon.com for 30.00 comes w/ the cd-rom thing and some access thing. The bookstore was outrageous on that book. The reason I was asking about the micro cover is a girl took it online last summer is giving me hers & I was wondering if it is the same book.

Yes! It is the 7th edition. J black is the author.

I sell all my books on Amazon, but I have not had any luck with purchasing what I need. I better order my books for this summer classes. I didn't take any classes this Spring since my family and I just moved to Indy- needed to get back into the swing of things. Thought Med.term should help me with study habits and become a quicker reader for all the research that lays ahead of us!

Has anyone looked into J.Everett school for LPN cert? I am just wondering if I don't get in at Ivytech, to go there start working and go for the transitional ASN @ Ivytech! I too just want to get started this fall.
