I'll be graduating in May with an associate's degree. I've been applying for some jobs at places that have RN graduate programs. But there are some hospitals I've looked at and would prefer to work at but they have told me they don't even consider applicants until after you've passed boards. I'm just wondering how much more difficult it would be to wait until June or July to apply and get a job or would it be wiser for me to take a job now. What has been everyone else's experience in this situation? Thanks!!

Apply at the places you can right now or in the next month or so, and compile your list of potential employers for when you are licensed.
With luck, you won't have to go to that second list.

Some of my fellow graduates are struggling to find jobs. I'd see if you could start applying now. I would also expand the list to LTC facilities and prisons if you need a job in less than a year.

I say apply anyway. I'm graduating in May as well, and I have applied to over 100 jobs so far, and have one offer for when I am licensed.
Have you made any connections along the way?
Are you guys affected by the BreEZe system thing out there? The delay will make it that much longer before we can start working. :***:
Also be aware that the application process can take awhile, so getting started now won't hurt you.
