waiting, Air Force Nurse Corps

Published

Hello all, I am new to this forum, but have been reading from it for some time. I am curious. Who is still waiting for the fully qualified selection status from Jan boards? It seems that AFPC is busy with other matters for the immediate future. I am waiting patiently....well not so patiently!

I just got a call from a Col. and she said "we're happy to have you! ". She just had question to ask. Board finished today. So basically just awaiting my assignment and official call. I'm so excited! I can't wait!

Awesome news! So you're in - hard part's over! Congrats!!

Thank you both! I'm so excited! I hope to leave soon but we'll see. Hope I get my #1 choice, Travis.

Not to pee in your Corn Flakes (couldn't resist!) but I wouldn't be surprised if you don't leave until next year. Then again - you could get very lucky and wiggle into someone's dropped spot. I'd let your recruiter know you're willing to leave early so if he/she gets a call about an early slot they can put your name in for it straight off without having to get hold of you first.

Just like a cop to spoil someone's optimism......:D

I'd like to think I was trying to let her down easy.....

(And I was referencing the peeing in the corn flakes....Lol.....I see that doesn't look very clear.)

Summer sucks for getting into a COT class, because of all the Docs just graduating. They set up a secondary COT site just to handle all the new grads during summer.

Specializes in ED. ICU, PICU, infection prevention, aeromedical e.

296 COT trainees in this current 10-04 class. Really hard to get it all together and eat, go to bathroom in a timely manner.

Oh, and by the way... I'm the OTG Commander now. So this nurse is ordering the docs about. I'll laugh about this sometime in the future, I hope!

Specializes in MED/SURG.

I go to COT in Jan and hope its not to cold. I am use to New England weathers but hate running inthe FREEZING cold. Oh well worse case its only 4 weeks! Can't wait to get of of dodge and start my new Air Force career!!!!!!

I was sort of glad last year when my August slot fell through and I went in October (COT class 10-01). Class 09-06 was apparently over three hundred and fifty people....my COT class was 106 folks!
