Waiting for acceptance/rejection tonight!!!

Published

Hi all, I have been trying for sooooo long to get into nursing school. I know you all can relate! I keep checking my email-but I really probably don't have a chance of getting into Sacramento State. I want this so badly though!

So, if this is not out of order, please, say alittle prayer for me(if you are so inclined). If I put this in God's hands I can't be too disappointed if its a no-go again. It just wasnt meant to be.

If anyone ever needs any encouragement or a prayer in return-just hit me up, I will be glad to return the favor.:monkeydance:

Love to you all in cyberspace!

What are your stats if you don't mind saying?

This school goes on a point system, some points given for GPA of last 30 units and prereqs (mine is about 3.4) and a TEAS test score(my score 89/97 percentile) about 15 points extra are awarded for misc things like bi-lingual(no) and disadvantages(some). Very competitive. I wish I knew how many application they had this go-around. To be honest I would be very happy with a good alternate number-thats that best I can hope for probably.

Praying with you! Good luck!;)

Cincin1, I wish you the best of luck and I have my fingers crossed for you!!!

Let's exchange prayers. I've already said one for you. I know what it's like to want something so badly and to have to wait for the word. I have only a few options where I am. One is a Community College which is on a basic lottery system. There are about 50 seats for 600+ students. The second is a State college that uses GPA only. I'd need to get at least a 3.7 GPA to get in. However, I left that school 15 years ago in bad shape and had to petition to get back in. My bad grades can be re-done but there is NO room for error. I'm still waiting to see if they'll let me back in. Sooooo...if you wouldn't mind putting a word in with Him for me in return, I'd appreciate it. I wonder how many Pre-Nursing/Nursing student prayers drift their way up to Heaven each day...

Good luck and my prayers are with you too! I am a re-entry student too. I remember when I was not serious about school, way back when. Boy has that came back to haunt me. Well, don't let it stop you-go get'em tiger!;)

Thank you so much everyone! Can you believe it is 9:30 pm. and no word yet. Is that good or bad? hummmm. If I don't get an answer by 6 pm tomorrow I am supposed to call. Boy they better not do that to me. If they know I am not gonna get it I wanna know dang it!

Well, its not gonna happen for me again. I'm so bummed. I'd cry but I am actually getting used to the rejection.

279 applicants. 70 will be accepted. My alternated number is 120. :o

Thanks anyway.

I'm sorry you received a second rejection. :o

Thank you 2BRN-its actually my 3rd rejection-at least I have more places I can apply to-or just wait until my number comes up on the "first come first served" schools that I am already accepted to. Trouble is that could be two more years. I'm so revved up to start! I was thinking maybe I should just calm down, chill and be with my kids, have fun, maybe take a class for fun-like piano or voice or whatever-and quit trying be beat a dead horse. My first instinct however is to frantically search for a new place to apply, find ways to improve my GPA, or how to learn another language. It just gets so tiring, finding out you are not good enough. Time after time!

Have fun when you start-let us know how it goes. P.S. my stepson is in 1st sem ADN program, he is doing clinicals already and says the lecture classes are crazy hard! NOt to scare you, you sound like a smart cookie to me! Cheers!

You are good enough. There are too many applicants relative to the number of spots in the programs. For example, one of the BSN programs I'm applying to previously had 2-3 applicants per spot. Now they have 6 applicants per spot. Too many applicants is the problem. That has nothing to do with you being good enough or not. In a different climate you would have been accepted! Keep your chin up, and don't commingle getting into nursing school (or not) with your self worth!
