Hi everyone,
I graduated in may 2010 and began doing pediatric home health in September 2010. I am still soon pediatric home health and currently in school to obtain my bsn. I will finish with y bsn program this December. I want to work in the hospital setting but don't know when I should start looking for positions. Should I wait till I finish my bsn or should I go ahead and try now? I am leaning towards an ER position. I am willing to get ACLS and PALS certified if necessary. Thanks for your input in advance.

Well, you should start doing the job hunt now since this is what you really want.. take it little by little... Don't rush anything because trust me you will get a job anyways.. So don't worry. but stick to home health.. You can just start by putting resumes out to land a better position or dream job...

You can definitely start looking now. It won't hurt to start putting resumes out and networking. You never know what may happen! Best wishes!

Try applying for hospital scholarships. I was awarded in my last semester in school...3 weeks before graduation. At least that will get your foot in the hospital door.
Thanks for your input everyone, really appreciate it. I already know that many hospitals might not take pedi home health as experience but I will try anyways. I am going to get my ACLS and PALS just to make myself stand out and see if that will help. There are so many different things you can do in nursing. I'm still indecisive about which to do! But I'm leaning towards ER and kinda been thinking about nicu.. Still unsure lol. Thanks everyone again
