  1. Does bsn courses count towards cne credits? I read on the BON website that academic courses taken towards a degree in nursing will count but has it worked for anyone here? I just want to be sure.
  2. I ended up getting insurance for myself with blue cross blue shield of Texas for $110/month. I am generally healthy and don't go to the doctor often so I chose a plan in case of emergencies or a catostrophic event. Deductible is 2500 then coinsurance is 25%. Out of pocket limit is deductible plus 3000. So most I would pay out of pocket annually is 5500 of something bad ever happens to me. I hope I chose a decent. It also covers preventative care 100%.
  3. Is it better to get insurance through your employer or just buy it yourself? I don't have any insurance as of right now but want to get some sort of insurance in case something happens. I am single with no kids so it would be just for me. When my employer had open enrollment it stated it would be give or take $130 per pay period so that's about 260+ a month. When I looked at individual insurance plans online. There were plans for give or take $150 a month.
  4. It's doable. Those classes aren't that hard.
  5. I have been renting books throughout the whole program. You can rent books on chegg.com
  6. Congrats!! How do you know if you'll graduate with Latin honors? Do they notify you?
  7. I'm also interested in what this class entails. I will be starting capstone in a couple weeks. I have heard that there is a PowerPoint also.
  8. Got an email from uta that they created a page for the uta RN to BSN AP program on facebook
  9. This is my last week in the research course. Sometimes it can be a pain waiting for other group members to do their part or wait for a response for an assignment. I'm so glad it's almost over with this class. I'd rather do the assignments individually. This fall I'll be taking an elective co-op class, vulnerable populations, capstone, and govt. I haven't had any other problems with the program. I'm just ready to finish the program.
  10. Post a link when you do. :) I'm almost done with the program, I will be finishing this fall.
  11. There is no clinical for the online RN-BSN program
  12. Usually there is discussion board or quiz due in the middle of the week like wednesday. Most assignments and papers are due Saturday or Sunday. The assignments are divided weekly so for instance in week one you would have discussion board usually due Wednesday and then maybe a quiz or paper due Saturday or Sunday. I work about 5-6 days a week, 8 hr shifts and I did not struggle with the assignments. I would work on them after work or on my day off. I suggest you get a calendar and mark when everything is due and then use time management to figure out when you would set aside time for school
  13. I started the nursing courses in January and have been taking 2 nursing courses at a time. I also remember in the course map it just said that no more 2 were allowed to be taken at a time. I don't remember hearing the academic advisor tell me I could only take one at a time.
  14. Students from out of state are admitted. Some of my classmates are from many states all over. You do not have to be partnered with any participating hospitals. I think that is for the on campus bsn program
  15. I've started nursing research this week and I am beginning to stress out! I wish they could've done this course without the group assignment because it sucks having to wait for other students in your group to respond and not knowing if we will make our assignment deadline in time.
