WA Endorsement Process - Longest in the Nation???

Does anyone have any insight as to why Washington State takes SOOO long to endorse a license?  I've been waiting over 6 weeks, and know someone who is still waiting and applied 4 MONTHS ago.  Initially the Department of Health told me 4 weeks.  Once 4 weeks hit they told me 4-6 weeks.  Now that I'm at 6 weeks they told me 8-12 weeks.  Now other people I know in the process have said the DOH won't even give them any time frame.  I have a job offer and have delayed my start date three times because the DOH keeps prolonging the processing times for applications.  I'm starting to worry I'm going to lose the offer if I have to keep postponing.  Anyone have any knowledge into this process?  Anyone else in the process too and waiting?

Oh no!  I just graduated August 27 and am hoping it won’t take that long.  Are you still waiting to write NCLEX?  I am still waiting on the ATT.

No I’m endorsing (transferring) from another state, I’m already an RN and have already taken NCLEX.

That's crazy, what state were you coming from?  I swear there's either no rhyme or reason to it whatsoever, or they give preference to people from certain states.

Hi,

It’s very slow. I did endorsement from IL. I applied July 30th and received my temp September 16th. I had my job offer since July for a start date on the 8th of Sept. Luckily HR said no matter what the job is still mine, they’ll just keep looking out for my license. My temp is good until March 16th so I’m finally relieved.

its funny how the DOH website says due to current situations temps are pushed out faster, LOL okay yeah right.

Hope your job understands!

From Florida. (I’m a former Seattle resident- but that was prior to becoming a nurse).

I’ve emailed with an employee there who stated all was in order, just waiting on the fingerprint check to come back okay. The processing time seems ridiculously slow. Thankfully I am not in any real rush, as I’m not moving back until next Spring, but it’s frustrating nonetheless.

ETA: I hope they process yours soon! Best of luck with the new job!

All the website states is pending and I’ve been on hold with the nursing commission for 2 hours so far trying to speak with someone.. I’m glad to know the jobs are accommodating, this makes me soo nervous. I too and transferring a nursing license from IL to WA

Yeah my start date was supposed to be 9/14.  Then had to push it back to 10/12.  Then had to push it back again to 10/26.  Your fingerprints shouldn't have any bearing on getting a permit, they're only needed for the actual license.

I’ve done everything through nursys and paid everything, I really hope they would tell me if something was missing. They state they would, so I’m guessing because it’s pending I’m just waiting for the license ??‍♀️ my friend applied in Vermont and had her license approved in 15 minutes!

What date did you actually apply? I've been in contact with people in this process, the quickest someone I had spoken to had a permit was 4 weeks, the soonest I've seen a license is 6 weeks.

I applied 7 weeks ago, know another guy from Virginia who applied 6 weeks ago, and a girl from Texas who applied 4 months ago, we're all still waiting for even a permit.
