  1. You all are amazing! Thank you ?
  2. Ahhhh...so, eventually some of the more typical symptoms presented. Interesting! I’ve always read that something like 90% of reactions will involve urticaria or itching, respiratory issues, etc... in addition to the gastrointestinal symptoms. It’s good hear others’ experiences. Thank you for the reply! ? Hopefully the allergen has since been identified! Covid sucks.
  3. I got the Moderna vaccine. First shot- sore arm for 3 days. Second shot- 24 hours of pain, fever, vomiting, chills. Followed by another 24 hrs of fatigue...the back to normal! Mildly sore arm through it all.
  4. Hello all... I have not yet had to give an epi pen, but I have a question for you. I am in elementary and kids complain of stomach pain often. I have a few anaphylactic kiddos and I know anaphylaxis can present with symptoms such as stomach cramping, vomiting, diarrhea. How have any of you differentiated between stomach bug, constipation pain and anaphylaxis? In your experience, does a gastro reaction usually include obvious/severe pain/symptoms? Taking into account exposure is unknown or child/teacher deny exposure? Our parents let us know their child’s typical symptoms and all of ours are respiratory or hives...which for me is pretty clear and obvious, so maybe this situation will never present itself...but what if. Gastro presentation possibility has me wondering “How do you know?” What if a kid says their stomach hurts and it’s an anaphylactic reaction, not just a stomach ache? I’d love to hear any experiences you all have had, if any with gastro symptom presentation.
  5. I finally got my license!! (Thank goodness as I’ve accepted a position out there!) ? Not sure why it took so long, but relieved to finally have it!
  6. Thank youuuu everyone! I’m so excited! My last school was a middle school and this will be at an elementary school, in another state! Big change! I’m really looking forward this new journey. I’ll be on the SN board asking questions and reading up for sure. ?
  7. Thank you! Still waiting to hear. They said they’d let me know either way. I’ll keep everyone posted. Appreciate the support!! ??
  8. Thank you for all the info and tips you guys! I appreciate it. ☺️ Even though I prepared, I’m not really sure how it went. I felt great on a couple questions and I rambled and fumbled on a couple others. First interview I answered every question very confidently, but I definitely left this interview feeling less so. As I reflected I of course thought of the perfect answers and every little thing I left out- which of course in an actual scenario, I’d never leave out. (Some of the scenarios were things I’ve handled and had a great outcome and I still managed to leave out a couple details I shouldn’t have- Gah...I feel like my nerves got the better of me during this interview.) BUT, we shall see ??‍♀️??
  9. Thank you ? I had clinical scenario type questions in my first interview, so I’m thinking this one may be more “how would you handle an irate parent” type questions... my friend who interviewed with a Principal said hers was more of a “meet and greet”...so I just don’t know what to expect. I’m so nervous and excited!
  10. Hello! I have a second interview coming up, with the same health services staff that did my first one and the Principal of the school I may be placed in. Anyone have experience with this? My current school nursing position only had one panel interview with school health staff... Any ideas on possible things to expect during this second interview?
  11. I called the background/fingerprint dept and they said they sent back my approved background check in August! That my application should have been in final review back then. Meanwhile the nursing licensing department is saying they’re waiting on my fingerprints/background to come back. Now I have emails out everywhere asking if my stuff got lost in the shuffle. What a mess ? Anyone else actually licensed there yet?!
  12. I got my temporary permit. They also emailed me to say that my fingerprints are still processing and that’s the hold up. I’m worried now that my prints weren’t good enough quality or something...this is taking foreverrrr. She gave me contact info to check on my prints, so I’ll give it another week and reach out if I don’t have my actual license by then. What a slow process. ?
  13. From Florida. (I’m a former Seattle resident- but that was prior to becoming a nurse). I’ve emailed with an employee there who stated all was in order, just waiting on the fingerprint check to come back okay. The processing time seems ridiculously slow. Thankfully I am not in any real rush, as I’m not moving back until next Spring, but it’s frustrating nonetheless. ETA: I hope they process yours soon! Best of luck with the new job!
  14. I applied in the beginning of July for my WA endorsement and am still waiting! I JUST got my temporary Practice Permit from them yesterday. It’s sooo slow. ?
