Mine took about 3.5 months and finally updated on the website. I was refreshing multiple times per day.

I applied back on 8/16 and everything still says pending... no temporary license either

Try emailing them! I emailed them on 9/26 and just heard back today. They stated as of now, they are processing applications from 8/10 and cannot provide me with a time frame. But they did confirm they received the application along with my fingerprinting I had to do. They also said to avoid emailing and calling for updates so they can process applications faster ?‍♀️

I’ve done everything through nursys and paid everything, I really hope they would tell me if something was missing. They state they would, so I’m guessing because it’s pending I’m just waiting for the license ??‍♀️ my friend applied in Vermont and had her license approved in 15 minutes!

This is good to know! I have a start date of 10/12 and was fingerprinted back on 8/28... All the website states is pending and I’ve been on hold with the nursing commission for 2 hours so far trying to speak with someone.. I’m glad to know the jobs are accommodating, this makes me soo nervous. I too and transferring a nursing license from IL to WA

I bought the ATI comp predictor book, our school did not offer it but I was able to find it on amazon and it was exactly what I needed. It summarized everything very well and had plenty of practice questions.

Our school was heavily based on ATI and the comp predictor was our exit exam. I would highly recommend also buying the pink ATI comp predictor book and focusing on the areas you know you struggle with. I highlighted and flagged difficult areas. I read about half the book and did practice questions and passed on the first try. Make sure you get a full nights sleep the night before. Our comp predictor was 180 questions.

Make sure it is an accredited nursing school, I checked a year ago and they were not due to how new the program was.

Definitely pay attention to ekg placement, your place of employment should offer a blood draw class and a splinting class and sometimes if you're doing a long leg splint you'll need someone else's help to hold.. Don't be afraid to ask other techs for help especially when you're new! Your new job should give you orientation/shadowing for at least 3-4 weeks as well.

Try to apply to a hospital if possible, it's still very hard work but regardless of what floor I've been on there is always a nurse or tech who is willing to help as long as it is not crazy busy. I have my CNA and currently work in the ER and absolutely love going into work, I even try to pick up extra shifts on occasion. But to be honest it all depends on your coworkers and the work environment, some shifts will always be more difficult than others, you will be absolutely exhausted but in the end if you don't enjoy what you do, try to find a different place to work.

I have not started the program yet, the first day is January 11th. My nursing pre requisite gap was 3.47 and the Teas score was around 80 and landed in the advanced category for the proficiency level. Are you in the program?

Sorry, I mistyped and I need to make a correction it's the 2 year bsn program as long as all the pre reqs are completed. To me it seemed accelerated since you start out as a junior and jump right into the nursing courses [emoji3]
