WA Endorsement Process - Longest in the Nation???

U.S.A. Washington

Published

Does anyone have any insight as to why Washington State takes SOOO long to endorse a license?  I've been waiting over 6 weeks, and know someone who is still waiting and applied 4 MONTHS ago.  Initially the Department of Health told me 4 weeks.  Once 4 weeks hit they told me 4-6 weeks.  Now that I'm at 6 weeks they told me 8-12 weeks.  Now other people I know in the process have said the DOH won't even give them any time frame.  I have a job offer and have delayed my start date three times because the DOH keeps prolonging the processing times for applications.  I'm starting to worry I'm going to lose the offer if I have to keep postponing.  Anyone have any knowledge into this process?  Anyone else in the process too and waiting?

Yeah, unfortunately the last time I talked to the DOH they said it's taking 8-12 weeks from the date you applied to get a permit.  They just keep saying they're thousands of applications behind. I'd keep your job posted on the situation and let them know you may need to delay your start date.

Thank you I plan on doing that today! I appreciate your help!

I pray it doesn’t take that long for me to get the ATT to schedule the NCLEX!  I am at 4 weeks now already and still no word.

I’m not sure if they have different people doing applications for license by exam vs license by endorsement. Keep us posted I’m curious.

Got my ATT this morning!  First available dates pretty much all over WASHINGTON were end of November.  But I managed to find a cancellation for Thursday, October 1!!  Oh dear lord that is soon!  Wish me luck!!
I hope you all get your endorsements soon!

Congrats and best of luck on the NCLEX!

still waiting here..spend 1.5 hours on hold Monday, didn’t get through. Twice yesterday for 2 hours, couldn’t get through, and an hour tonight, couldn’t get through either. It’s very frustrating.

Try emailing them! I emailed them on 9/26 and just heard back today. They stated as of now, they are processing applications from 8/10 and cannot provide me with a time frame. But they did confirm they received the application along with my fingerprinting I had to do. They also said to avoid emailing and calling for updates so they can process applications faster ?‍♀️

Thanks for that information, I actually emailed them a little earlier today . The last time I had emailed them back in August about a fingerprint question, it took them two weeks to reply.

Tried calling on five separate occasions this week and have been on hold for 2-3 hours each time before I had to hang up.  Never got ahold of anyone....what a joke.

Finally got a hold of someone, they said they were currently working on endorsement applications from 8/14.  They said they also put two additional people on the endorsement desk, and are no longer subject to the monthly furlough days.
