:chuckle HI IM NEW! I NOW HAVE MY CGFNS CERTIFICATE BUT I STILL NEED TO TAKE IELTS FOR MY VISASCREEN...AND I'VE LEARNED THAT IT TAKES 6 MONTHS FOR THE PROCESSING OF THE VISASCREEN?? CAN I APPLY FOR THE VISASCREEN CERTIFICATE WHILE I'M STILL TAKING IELTS EXAM? THANK YOU TO ANYONE WHO WILL ANSWER ME....:) :) BUNSO

Hey everybody..

This forum and Suzanne has been helped me alot! I can not thank enough!!Thanks to you all, I got my wonderful RN position in a wonderful hospital in where they care their employees a lot and make you feel like you are very important to them.. Thanks again eveybody! I am so happy these days!!

The only thing I am waiting for is my visa screening... I need your help on this.. Does anybody know if I need to submit my marriage certifikate or birth certifikate to them? I could't find any information in their web site. I already have all my documents sent to CGFNS( the only document that has my maiden name on it is my school transcript)?

I would appreciate any response and your time..

good luck everybody and have a happy life!!!!

You need to submit a proof of legal name change. Marriage contract will do.(it shows your maiden name that will match with your name in your transcript)

Yeah, and you know about those people going home after their AOS gets denied? Its pretty disastrous...i lifted this off an immigration lawyer's website...(George M. Sabga Jr.)

"One of the greatest and most persistent myths about AOS processing is the belief that if an AOS application is denied, the applicant can easily return to non-immigrant status and go on as if the AOS application had never been made. This is simply not true. If a person is denied AOS because of serious personal misconduct, they may well be taken into custody immediately and held until they can be physically removed. Even when this is not the case, and a denied applicant is not taken into custody, he or she must leave the United States within a very short period of time and will find it EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO EVER RETURN. It is the extremely rare case in which a denied AOS applicant is allowed to remain in the U.S. or easily re-enter."

That plus people going to the US and trying AOS in ignorance (without the VSC certificate) equals awful consequences.

Ouch, indeed... I'm sure there's a legal remedy somewhere (are there?) for those who were already denied of AOS w/o forcibly going back to their home country.

My symphaty goes to those who were denied or will be denied. Especially those who doesn't know it yet. 4-6 mos in the U.S. and be denied really hurts. All the wasted money, time, effort. But on the other hand, they also should have done their research or homework 1st before they go come to the U.S., so part of the blame should be on them as well.

hi! it's nice to have you here. :welcome:

I learned from this forum that philippine local license as RN is not required for visascreen. click this: https://allnurses.com/forums/f75/do-u-need-tobe-fil-board-passer-satisfy-req-visa-screen-160069.html

others who also tried CA (without SSN) and passed the nclex sent to CA BON the CGFNS license validation form for visascreen plus the required fee.

see you around. :penguin:

Great! Thank you so much! So you mean to say I should just send the Visascreen license validation form to CA? Im wondering if that might make it get stuck somewhere in the process since technically they havent issued the license yet? Like there's nothing to validate?

Thank you so much, kiko.

As I have read from other posts with the same question as yours, the answer to that is...Ca will only verify that you passed nclex, not your license since you don't have one yet.

hi, im just in the process of submitting my papers to CA BON, is it ok if i will simultaneously apply for the visa screen even i dont have the NCLEX result yet, because it is stated there if i passed NCLEX,thanks!!!

it's better to apply early for the visa screen.i did not apply early although i passed the ielts when i took it so my visa screen processing was fast because all the requirements were there already.if you apply now, there is a part there which would somewhat say awaiting english results or awaiting to pass english.but if other documents are there now,it would also be indicated there.and as soon as you pass the ielts, you get your visa certificate fast because you satisfied/completed all the requirements.

Yes you can do that but just make sure to complete all requirements within a year otherwise you are required to pay again $ 198 aside from the $398 initial fee. The initial visascreen application fee needs to be paid within 2 months of initial application.

CA will take about six months for you to get approval to even sit for the exam, then add another two months to get a date to take the exam, and then another month to get your results.

The Visa Screen Application is now only good for one year, and you are going to be cutting it way too close, I would at least wait until you get the ATT.

Remember that CA will not issue you a hard license, so you will not be able to endorse...........to go to any other state, you will need to start the process from the beginning.

I never, ever recommend CA for initial licensure for any foreign nurse, much faster to just endorse there.

In my opinion, it is better to pass one of the exams first before applying for Visa Screen. If I were you, I would pass CGFNS or NCLEX-RN first, then apply for Visa Screen. Then I would take IELTS or other English Exams, while my visa screen is being processed.

I think this is the most efficient way to do it.

Let me tell you the risk of applying for Visa Screen before passing NCLEX-RN. Visa screen application fee of almost $400 is good only for one year. If one can't complete all the requirements within one year, then he has to pay about $200 for another year extension.

hi everyone. i already had my visascreen certificate last october 2003, had my consular interview mid this year but visa not yet issued:o ... i understand visascreen is renewable. for how long is it valid? and how is it renewed? many thanks.....
