EMPLOYMENT-BASED VISA AVAILABILITY DURING THE COMING MONTHS

from the DOS website: The current level of demand in many of the Employment-based categories has been MUCH LOWER than anticipated. As a result, the June cut-off dates have been advanced significantly in an effort to maximize number use under the annual numerical limits. At this time it appears likely that there will be additional advances during the coming months.

this is great news for all of us waiting for visa numbers and for all of us who thinks that the CIR bill is the only way to get in immigrant visa.....let me remind you that the dates moving forward is NOT always the case. Visa numbers can retrogress and go back a few years as what happened before but this gives us a glimmer of hope

how to use the Visa Bulletin chart. example: if a Philippine-born nurse files his/her I-140 BEFORE JUNE 01, 2005 it means that an immigrant visa number is available for you and your family and processing will continue. This is applicable for both Consular Processing and Adjustment of Status.......

according to the revised july 2007 visa bulletin, 60,000 employment based visas were issued for the month of June. i could not understand this because DOS released the old July 2007 visa bulletin indicating a "current" status mid June then 2 weeks later, revising the VB to unavailable.... theoreticaly, it means around 60,000 EB visas were used up in the last 2 weeks of june

i was planning to buy a condo and open up a small business while maintaining my current work as a RN in case my wife and I got lucky....but without a greencard, we have to put everything on hold again....i would not risk money until our greencard is approved

the only possible way to end retrogression is for a bridge legislation just like what happened in 2005 when 50,000 sched A visas were allocated for RN's and PT's.....

oh well, life has to go on.....let us not lose hope but instead focus on what truly matters: our loved ones: our parents, spouse and children

:heartbeat

These are just like bridge visas that were available back then for the 50,000 visas; only now there are 140,000 but for all of those under the EB-3 status. These are recapped visas that are being used, exactly like what was used under the Schedule A, but that no longer exists.

Since you are already under the EAD, what have you gotten approved on? The I-485 and the I-140, both approved? If so, then you have a possibility of getting one of these visas. They have been trying to clear out those that have had visas pending before the retrogression started.

I would hold onto your dreams, it is not out of the question at this point in time. Please keep me posted.

You maybe one of those that were included on that unprecedented sudden splurge of 60,000 visas for June. That was done after all to clear the backlogs. Good luck.

Specializes in med/surg.

For the rest of us the visas have run out already. They say there will be more in the October bulletin under the 2008 allocation (if I understood it correctly) but who these will be for I don't know. Except it won't be schedule "A" unless that's brought back again.

We really have to hope that they re-instate schedule "A". It seems that for most of us that will be the only way of getting over within a sensible time frame.

Boy is Canada looking tempting right now!! :-)

the last june 2007 visa bulletin had a cut-off priority date of June 2005......mine is August 2006 so the way i understand is that USCIS will only process until that cut-off date.....my I-140 was approved september 2006 but my I-485 is still pending

yes Suzanne, i will never let go of my dreams....I can clearly see now why the US is called the Land of Opportunity.....

here in the US, there is absolutely no excuse to live in poverty.....

Remember what I have always stated, the PD dates listed are not written in stone. And since you already had approval of the I-140 and have had your I-485 just pending; you do not know for sure that they have not reserved a visa number for you at this point. That you already had the approval on the I-140 is actually in your favor over just the PD dates. There are those with PD dates before yours that never have received approval on that.

We have seen those get approvals in the past, when their PD dates were much more current.

Keep your toes and fingers crossed. And keep me posted on everything. DEAL?

both my wife and my I-485 are still pending.......we just renewed our work permit last month....i hope it gets approved before september though....

Stay safe this summer with all of the heat where you are.:balloons:

I just want to ask. With a lot of cases stuck in packet3 again. When the visas open in Oct. What are the most probable dates for EB3? Hoping to be it at least 2005.
