Hi, my name is Brooke and I am just finishing up the Pre-Nurse curriculum at John Tyler School of Nursing, I take my NLN this saturday and I am terrified!!!! I was told oh, you will do just fine, there is no need to study for the NLN! But after reading some of these posts, I am going to get the prep book today, I am just scared I will not be prepared. I took a much higher level math than needed for Pre-Nurse and made an A, English has always been a strong point for me, and I love science (I just made an A in Anatomy and Phys). What do you think, should I be scared, is a week enough time to prepare? I would love to meet some other Nursing students and get together and talk, have dinner, etc. I am a single mom with a 7 year old boy and I don't have any family in VA and don't know too many people, so it would be nice to have some people of similar interest to conversate with. Feel free to email me or just respond to this post.
Looking forward to meeting other student nurses in the Richmond area!
Brooke:)
I hope to graduate this spring too. I would like to work in the hospital and I think Med/Surg would be the place to finish honing my skill (such as they are) for a year or two. I'm enjoying the Christmas break and kind of dreading getting back into the swing of things. We will need to do clinicals and I have none of the experience of the ones that have been CNA's first, so it rather intimidating to go into a patient's room to assess them. I know if I keep doing it I will get better. I just feel so insecure at times but I can't let on to anyone else. So I study extra hard and watch and learn. I WILL make it, and the confidence WILL come in time. If anyone has any hints or advice, I'm more then willing to listen.
I'm in the ADN-RN program in Southside Va.....second semester. Med Surg this time. I hope (I've GOT to stop saying "hope" and say "will") to graduate in May of 2005....is it here yet, is it here yet?
Great to "meet" all the fellow Virginia nursing students!
nekhismom, I envy you for being finished! haha
