Hi, my name is Mike. I'm opening this thread to connect with other people who are applying or have been accepted to the BSNExpress program at Villanova for Spring 2015. Feel free to share any thoughts and suggestions you might have and to ask questions. Hopefully this forum can serve as a way for us to get to know each other a bit prior to the start of the program.
Hi everyone! My interview went well and like some of you, I am eagerly awaiting to hear their decision!!!! Can't stand the thought of waiting till the first week of December!
I clarified with the faculty during my interview what the deposit went towards when they mentioned "standardized testing". It appears that they use an online program throughout the BSN program that provides lessons and training units followed by a test on that topic that must be completed by certain dates. I believe it was called ATI testing. It is used to prep us from day 1 for the NCLEX exam.
Hey everyone!
I have been stalking this thread for about a week now LOL. I applied to the BSNExpress program about two and a half weeks ago. Earlier this week I was asked to set up an interview to professor E.! I am VERY excited about this interview but also a little nervous as I know the class is probably almost at full capacity.
Congrats to everyone accepted! I just wanted to make a comment rather than continue to just read others
Good luck to everyone that is also in my boat right now!
Yes! Looking forward to it and to taking a full tour of the building:yes:. It's such a step up from Temple's 'campus' LOL
KAB- Congrats, Professor E. is very nice, good luck with the interview!
I doubt the class is full. It seems like they sent out the first wave of acceptances in September. From what I remember they accept around 120 of about 200 applicants.
Hi all!
Been stalking this thread a bit throughout the application process. I had a few hiccups with getting my transcripts sent- the undergrad office kept one instead of sending it to nursing and they just found it today, and I had to use a service called WES for my foreign Master's degree. WES was a bit of a nightmare and didn't do any work for over 3 weeks. They finally sent my transcript review today. I paid for overnight shipping, but it will still be late. K and MA at the program have been so nice, but I'm worried that these delays might affect my application!
I'm taking Physiology now and have Nutrition in the winter and Microbio in the Spring. Anyone else going to try to take their online Patho class if they are accepted?
Villanova is definitely my top choice and I'm obsessively checking the portal to see when my transcripts are finally enters. Fingers crossed for an interview! I'm not going to make the open house, as I live in RI, but if I get an interview offer, I will go in person to tour the campus.
For those of you who attend the open house can you post any amazing facts you learn? I live in Michigan and won't be able to attend it. I took a campus tour during my interview, but would love to know if there is anything special that you learn that pertains to the Nursing School. During the campus tour they don't actually take you to the nursing building. I am hoping to hear something soon!
Warriortac, I know the nursing building is about 5 years old, since it was built while I was an undergrad there. My interviewer took me down to the nursing labs since I hadn't seen them before. They really are amazing and top of the line. They have a different lab for each unit (adult, pediatrics, labor/delivery etc) and all of the mannekins are interactive! They can simulate things like heart rhythms and breathing sounds. They also have cameras in the rooms, so you can practice on the mannekins alone and have a professor watching and critiquing from far away. By far the best labs I've seen compared to any other schools! The rest of the building is really beautiful too.
