Villanova BSN Express Spring 2015

Published

Hi, my name is Mike. I'm opening this thread to connect with other people who are applying or have been accepted to the BSNExpress program at Villanova for Spring 2015. Feel free to share any thoughts and suggestions you might have and to ask questions. Hopefully this forum can serve as a way for us to get to know each other a bit prior to the start of the program.

Congrats RNL0VE!!!!! I hope I get mine by the end of the month :) By the way, how much is the deposit? If you don't mind answering that question :)

Hey warriortac! Good luck!!

Deposit is $860 to save your "seat" - the letter said it covers all the standardized testing?

Ohhh okay. Thanks for the info!!! How exciting :)

Also I can't find the facebook group - can someone post the link? :)

Is anyone attending the open house on the 21st? Would love to meet some of you!

Does anyone know what standardized testing we will have to take if accepted such as the TEAS test?

Strange that the FB group isn't searchable.. here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/696196833794068/

I currently live in California, so I won't be attending the open house. I look forward to hearing all the details from those who do go, though!

Also, I don't think there's any standardized testing, such as TEAS, that we need to complete. I know we don't have to take the GRE too.

Congrats RNL0VE and peppymint!

I'm registered for the open house so I'm hoping to be there. I'm not sure what the testing is for, what is TEAS?

Thanks, and same to you sweetem! I believe the deposit is for the nclex, but I could be wrong. Maybe you'll find out at open house.

The TEAS test is a standardized test that some schools require for nursing school. It's SAT-like, with math, science, English comprehension, and grammar sections. It's pretty common for California schools, but we don't need it for villanova.

Yeah, I would guess the NCLEX exam. TEAS is usually a prerequisite entrance exam, if required by the school. The only school in our area that I am aware of that requires it is West Chester Univ. (for accel. BSN, that is).

So I just interviewed today! I think it went really well. They say I will hear back by the first week of December. Didn't some of you hear back rather quickly (i.e. sooner than they said)?

Gerrly, I was told the same thing. But I thought it will be the latest we hear back from them. I assume it could be earlier than that. I'm not so sure though. Hopefully we'll get the news within a month, like everybody else.
