VCU DNAP 2020 Applicants

Published

Hi everyone!

wanted to start a thread for ppl applying to VCU DNAP program starting January 2020, where we can all share our stats and talk through the application process! Goodluck to all ?

When you called did you ask if all acceptance calls had gone out? Could they give you any idea or did they just say they were out of department?

They said they were just out of office, no other details other than to email Amanda with any questions. I just emailed her.

update: just got an automated reply that she is out of the office until May 28th

I thought Amanda was going on maternity leave and that other guy was picking up her duties.

Well if she’s the one whose going to email us and she’s not back until May 28th I feel like that means we’re out of luck. Dr. Damico made phone calls though so maybe she’ll be the one to send emails out? Is it inappropriate to message her?

Has anyone else received waitlist emails?? I saw one person on here has. I feel like all the initial calls have gone out and if some deny then more calls will go out...but that’s what a waitlist is for.

I know that not everyone who interviewed checks this, but it feels like not enough people who do got in. Makes me think they aren’t done calling (but maybe just wishful thinking). Sounds like at least 4 people who interviewed for Abingdon haven’t heard and wouldn’t that be half of the candidates for that site? Seems unlikely none of you would have made it.

From my conversation with Amanda she is only about 30 weeks pregnant at this point so I don't think this is her maternity leave - haha!

Also what conference is this ? NAFA is May 29 -June 1? Unless they plan to make all the rest of the calls before or on June 3? But they pretty clearly said June 1st was the day we would know by.

I was also wondering if it is inappropriate to reach out.. I don't want to be too pushy and annoy them . The website says notifications June 2019.

I think it is okay to email Dr Damico as long as it is worded very nicely. I have been thinking about emailing also. At this point, if all the acceptance notifications are out then it surely wouldn’t hurt anything. And if not, it just shows that you are interested. If anyone does please post so that we all aren’t sending her emails.

I haven’t heard anything yet either. I interviewed on May 1st. It seems like with the amount of people that are accepted to all the different sites more people would be posting on here with acceptance calls. Probably just wishful thinking, but I’m going to hold out hope until June 1st comes!

I agree! I feel like a lot of people that are on here and interviewed haven’t heard back yet. Especially for Richmond I think I only saw 2 people that said they were accepted. I’m hoping they tried to squeeze in calls before leaving and didn’t get it all done.

Well, another thing to think about is they may be behind schedule a bit. They are moving into a new building next month on top of sending out these acceptance calls. I’m holding out that they are not finished.
