Are you currently living in Virginia or coming from out of state? The reason I ask is because if you close to one of the four campuses and have support there, I would apply to the campus near you. If you’re coming from out of state, I would apply to the main Richmond campus. The Alexandria, Abington, and Roanoke campuses are satellite campuses. Everyone in all of the campuses has class together via high tech video conferencing. A few times each year, we all go to the Richmond campus.

No, I currently live in Florida. I am finishing up my application for the March 1 deadline, but they ask you which site you are applying for. Honestly, any of them would be fine if I get in. I have to relocate anyway, so honestly I would be happy just to have a spot. I wonder if I can just tell them that. I was reading from the posts above and it seems like everyone has preferences. So, I was wondering what was different from place to place. I assume we all rotate through all the clinical sites sooner or later. VCU is my top choice and I have been patiently waiting all year to start my application, so I want to make sure I do it right. ? The sim lab looks AMAZING!!!

Do you know if they have an experience day, or a tour day?

As you mentioned, any site would be great if you are admitted. The difference is that each site has certain amount of students they will accept. Richmond being the main campus accepts the most like around 20-25 roughly. Whereas the other three sites accepts significantly less. Say for instance Roanoke only accepts like 5-6 students. If you have a working spouse or significant other, I would recommend any of the sites except Abingdon for the simple fact of job opportunities. Depending upon what your significant other skills are then they may be limited in job opportunities or have a long commute to work. Abingdon is my small city. The other sites are in bigger cities which may make it easier to find work with a small commute. Hope this helps.

Northern Virginia site is the hardest to get in because all the DC area applicants apply there so they don't have to relocate. People wait for a couple of application cycles to get in at that location.

Hey everyone, a question for those of accepted to your respective distance sites (Abingdon, Roanoke, NoVA), I wanted to pose a question. The application states "first priority is given to applicants who reside in the area surrounding each respective site at the time of application."

Was this understood to be the case when you applied for your cohort and do you feel that it held true? In other words, those of you who chose sites other than Richmond, did you live close to your respective site?

Hey guys!!

CONGRATS on starting CRNA school this year to those accepted to VCU! I was invited to interview for the upcoming cohort and I am pretty nervous! The interview platform is going to be virtual (due to COVID) and is prerecorded (so no actual human interaction from what I understand)! Some how this makes me 1000x times more nervous but I am so excited just to have been offered an interview with my number one school choice!!

Any recommendations on the critical care test portion? I assume it will be actual verbal questions since there isn't a way for them to administer the physical test due to COVID and with it being a virtual interview!

Thanks in advance for your help and I look forward to hopefully seeing some of you guys next year!!
