VCU ABSN Summer 2021

Hi there!!

I applied to VCU's ABSN program for Summer 2021. I am so nervous being that we should get the yay or nay email on Monday. Has anyone else applied? Are you nervous? They said it was a holistic approach to acceptance, my GPA is a 3.49 for my undergrad so I am nervous

They emailed me to say they received my waitlist acceptance offer.

I think they should at least give us a number of where we are.

I’m going to call and ask what they mean by “wait list”.

The info that I just received is that all the info that they're allowed to give was sent to us electronically in our letters and we'll receive additional communication after the holidays.

Yes same I just received my email about confirming being on the wait list ! This is so stressful! So hopefully soon more details will be out

Oh that sucks. I just don’t want to wait for VCU and end up not being moved then I have nowhere to go.

Hello,

I am so relieved to come across this thread! Congratulations to those who got accepted. 

I have been waitlisted. This is my 3rd attempt applying to the ABSN program. This is my first time applying to VCU. I am from CO. My husband and I recently got stationed in VA. I completed my Bachelor in Biology of Science at MSU Denver in 2017. I’m getting close to the cutoff where my pre-requisites are about to be expired since some school only allows up to 10 years for completed coursework. I’m pretty devastated but I’m trying to remain hopeful. My grades for my pre-requisites are A’s and overall GPA is a 3.5.

After reading some post, it appears that the students who were offered the seat are student who recently completed their degrees. 

I hope that everyone in the wait list is able to get in. I’m not sure what to expect since I know some people who were waitlisted in the previous year had to reapply this year. 

I am anxious and honestly I don’t know how to feel exactly. I did accept the waitlist offer and email the admission specialist back to ask so questions but I received a similar response as everyone else. I guess it’s a matter of waiting until the seat is open. I hope the best for everyone who is waitlisted. Make sure to look at other options now so you have an alternative! Best of luck to everyone!

I'm so sorry you were waitlisted, I hope that you are able to get a spot! I graduated with B.S. in Criminal Justice in 2015. I had one of the pre-requisites before the start of this year and it was almost 10 years old. I went back to school and completed two more prerequisites which I believe helped me get in. Wishing for the best for you and all those who were waitlisted ?

Nope but I saw in past threads someone was accepted off the waitlist 12/01 so I’m thinking they will send stuff in December
