VCU ABSN Summer 2021

Hi there!!

I applied to VCU's ABSN program for Summer 2021. I am so nervous being that we should get the yay or nay email on Monday. Has anyone else applied? Are you nervous? They said it was a holistic approach to acceptance, my GPA is a 3.49 for my undergrad so I am nervous

Hello guys ! I’m so thankful that I found this thread ! I just applied for the accelerated program as well and was wait listed as well! So crossing fingers until further notice !

Well if it helps at all, the deadline to pay the deposit is February 1, 2021. I imagine for those who don't pay by this date, they are no longer going to have their spots held. Perhaps this is when vcu will pull from the waitlist. Just a thought.

I'm glad to find this thread. I applied to the accelerated program and found out I was waitlisted. I'm excited by it, but I'm also curious how many people on the waitlist actually get spots in the cohort.  Would anyone know? I'm hoping that I'm able to get a spot, although I have no idea where I am on the waitlist.

Same ! I have no clue I was just told that anyone could be selected off of the waiting list between December and the first day of classes.

Oh wow December. I wish they told us a rank of the waitlist because just saying waitlist doesn’t help a lot.

I know right! It’s very stressful I know they did it back in the day but I can assume they changed it recently

So they don't start taking off of the waitlist until December? I guess that makes sense. Wait listers have until Nov 24th to respond accept/decline and then there's Thanksgiving break. Well, good luck to all!

Hello

I also applied to the program and was waitlisted. After this semester is over I’m going to update them with my grades from my prerequisites. I had a 3.52 and 3.68 GPA from my previous colleges but my major was in criminal justice and minor in political science so I wonder if that was the reason. Since I had not taken any of the prerequisites besides stats in high school and I only got a 3. Good luck to everyone else on the waitlist I hope we get in! Congratulations to everyone who go it!

There was previous board from last years class and they said they do not tell you how many people or your spot but a lot of the people on the thread who got in around December. Good luck, I was also waitlisted.

Okay gotcha ! If we are updating transcripts where do we send them being that the transcripts were sent through nursing casp?

I don't know the official answer to this question as it was not on last year's board. I am planning to send them directly to the administration office though via the email in my waitlist letter.
