VCU ABSN Summer 2021

Hi there!!

I applied to VCU's ABSN program for Summer 2021. I am so nervous being that we should get the yay or nay email on Monday. Has anyone else applied? Are you nervous? They said it was a holistic approach to acceptance, my GPA is a 3.49 for my undergrad so I am nervous

I am surprised that they want an answer by Friday! Do you guys plan on going to VCU for sure or are you waiting to hear back from other schools? Personally, I am waiting to hear back from UVA's CNL program and I was planning on applying to Duke and GMU but I might have to rethink my plans.

I got waitlisted so we’ll see what happens

Yea, I just realized it said Friday. I am just going to go with them, they were my only choice as I really wanted to go there.

They gave the waitlist people until the 24th to respond.

I am going to pay the deposit but if I get accepted to Johns Hopkins in December I will go with them.

I'm sorry you got waitlisted. I know how that feels! Hang in there!

Yes hang in there. Anyone can turn down their acceptance and you get the spot!

I agree, don't give up! There are still so many options, you could come off the waitlist or there are other options in schools, don't let this bring you down.

And about @WlkrCJ's response regarding Johns Hopkins, I think I will do the same with UVA. This might be a dumb question but is it the right thing to tell VCU that we are waiting for another school or does it not really matter LOL

That’s true! But that’s a quick turnaround for them to have you make a decision by Friday!

Thanks guys! I was accepted to Shenandoah and Marymount so I have other options I was just waiting for VCU

No.. they know many people are waiting for other schools. It's part of the process. But I would encourage you to hold your spot. if you get accepted elsewhere and decide to go to another school VCU keeps 250 and they let someone off the waitlist! it's a win-win, minus the loss of funds on our end. 

If you get a better offer... take it and DON'T LOOK BACK!

Hello guys ! I’m so thankful that I found this thread ! I just applied for the accelerated program as well and was wait listed as well! So crossing fingers until further notice !

Well if it helps at all, the deadline to pay the deposit is February 1, 2021. I imagine for those who don't pay by this date, they are no longer going to have their spots held. Perhaps this is when vcu will pull from the waitlist. Just a thought.
