Vanderbilt 2020 Pre Specialty

Updated:   Published

I am making a post for all programs I am applying for that I have not seen thus far. I have been going into rabbit holes of previous year's posts for schools I am applying for. Vanderbilt has been my top choice since I decided to go into direct entry nursing the end of my sophomore year of college, so it seems only fitting to make a post for it. I am applying for the PMNHP specialty and look forward to reading posts and getting to know everyone!

I was accepted for pre-specialty FNP!

Specializes in Psychology.

Accepted to PMHNP! Extremely worried about the cost of the program though. Anyone else?

I was accepted too! I was also accepted at penn for PMHNP but Penns price tag is honestly insane. I’m only concerned that the short program will not prepare me adequately to be an NP.

Does anyone have a copy of their curriculum or can send me a link? For some reason I cant See it on their website.

Hi, I think I'm in a similar position. I'm trying to decide between penn, yale, bc, and vandy. All of them are great schools and they all offered me a good amount of scholarships. Just curious how do you decide? Penn is expensive but I heard that they are the top one program ...

Im likely picking Vandy due to cost, length, and location. It’s also #2 in the country for PMHNP so has to be somewhat good right? Lol Penn has not given me any info regarding scholarships yet (I submitted The FAFSA late) but it seems unlikely I’ll get a big amount. Its hard to turn down penn because of the name but length of program is a huge factor. I was also waitlisted at Yale and unimpressed with their Response to my question regarding clinical placements.

I got in to the NNP program at Vandy,.found out today. Trying to decide between them, ECU and hopefully UAB. Congrats everyone!

Hey everyone! I haven’t posted on this forum before but I’ve been following it! I’ve been accepted to the PMHNP specialty. I feel like we should make a group or something on Facebook (or other forms of social media) for those who do decide to accept their admission so we can link up!

Congrats to those who were accepted! I was accepted into the FNP program. I'm so excited to meet everyone!

I made a facebook group called "Vanderbilt PreSpecialty 2020 Entry." ?

You can search for the group by its name. Another option is through the link, but you have to already be logged into facebook for it to work: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2448173832161646/

Hey everyone congrats to all who made it to the finish line of this application process, because god knows it was not easy!

Anyone else here accepted into the Pre specialty + WHNP program? And I’ve heard that the accepted students open house is Feb 29th but can anyone confirm ? I didn’t see that date in the acceptance letter but maybe I missed it. Penn’s accepted students day is Feb 28th ? . Anyone else deciding between the 2?

I got in for Psych and this is very very big for me! The scholarship offer was also pretty tempting so now I’m Super grateful! It’s all narrowed down to Penn , Yale and Vanderbilt! For those in similar predicaments we can trade ideas in the Facebook group! Happy to meet you all and congratulations !!

Had to just chime in because I saw something about diversity issues and as a black man who just got accepted to the psych specialty I think it’s important that we don’t shy away from these things but rather go into these spaces to effect the change we want to see in this world. Leadership has to start somewhere and it can start with us as minorities. We got this! Excited to meet and learn from you all!
