Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty Applicants 2014

Published

Hey everyone! I couldn't find this thread anywhere so figured that I would start one for all of us who applied to Vanderbilt's Pre-Specialty Entry program (for non-RNs) this fall. I applied for the PMHNP specialty. What about you?! :)

super nervous! good luck everyone!!

Just wanted to update everyone that I just got off the phone with admissions and they're just finishing up reviewing the priority applicants. I guess I applied after the priority deadline, so they'll start reviewing applications submitted after the priority deadline on a "rolling basis" next week and I should know in the next 30 days. THIRTY DAYS?! My wait has just begun! Lol. I'm pre-specialty NMW/FNP, for the record.

So sorry to hear that JustD16!! What a bummer. I got similar news from Seattle, even though I applied on time, and 3 months ago. Did you apply to any other schools?

Woah! Wait.... When was the priority deadline? (heart is sinking)

Dec. 1st.

Oh wow. My last LOR was submitted in late December. Sigh....30 more days. Who wants to go halfsies on the Starbucks and pizza? (Haha)

I submitted mine December 1st and they're saying I wasn't in by the priority deadline so I think it was before that.

does it say on your application page that is was submitted 12/1/13?

Did you interview JustD16?

30 days is forever, but that actually could be good news (in a way). From what I've been hearing from the midwifery side of things, if applied before the priority deadline, but didn't get a call from the midwifery department then you were either wait-listed or rejected. So, on the bright side, you could still get good news... just trying to find the silver lining. Good luck!!

The priority deadline was definitely December 1. I submitted mine the day before and received priority review. To play it safe, I assumed it meant all materials must be in before December 1 (this interpretation could easily be wrong, though).

By December 1st (totally completed)was the priority deadline.
