  1. Does anyone know of a website or fb site for those of us starting this fall? I'm so excited!!
  2. I think that only you can best determine what makes the most sense for you, financially. I would tally up total costs for traveling for the year as well as what I would pay in tuition and compare that to a local/different program. Vanderbilt is a good school- but so are many others. Good luck with your decision!
  3. I've applied to start this coming fall. What has your experience been like? Is it organize? How long is the program? Do they help find your preceptorship? I'm looking for feedback as communication through the school has been terrible. Thanks!
  4. I was told that I would receive an email regarding being "waitlisted" and I would need to declare if I would like to still be considered on that list, if that's any help. I've been told that to get into the FNP or the CNM program for direct entry is EXTREMELY difficult. Nonetheless, it's still frustrating.
  5. I just called and asked for admissions. It wasn't the usual cheerful lady who has helped me in the past. Direct entry meaning I already have my BSN- so it would be for the second year, or specialty year.
  6. I got waitlisted for the direct entry FNP. Not feeling very encouraged by the conversation I had with the lady in admissions regarding the waitlist
  7. I really hope many of us get an answer today. Otherwise, it will make for a VERY long weekend...again :) Keep us updated if anyone hears anything.
  8. At the open house they made a point to say that their waitlist was a short one that was "reasonable". I assume that means that many on that waitlist end up getting to attend. Has your online status changed from submitted to waitlisted? Congratulations!
  9. I just spoke with the very nice woman in admissions. My application is still pending. She hoped that some of the decisions from yesterday's panel meeting might be uploaded into the computer by tomorrow. My ulcer is getting bigger
  10. By December 1st (totally completed)was the priority deadline.
  11. They have some committee meeting tonight to discuss candidates ( per the lady in the admissions office). Hopefully some of us will hear tomorrow or Friday!!
  12. I didn't necessarily learn anything new while there. Most people there were applying for next year so the sessions on the application and such didn't pertain to me as I've already applied. It was just nice to get a feel for what to expect, discuss the block scheduling, talk to a panel of current students and meet some faculty. Vanderbilt has really set the bar high, that's for sure! I'm ready for this week to just bring news- any news would be better than continuing to wait!
  13. The open house today was very well run! It was hard being there while still not knowing about the status of my application. One of the very nice faculty members told me that direct entry should start hearing this coming week. They have some big meeting on Wed, so it may be after that. This particular faculty member is in charge of pediatrics and made it sound like she was just about to start notifying applicants. Here's to hoping!!
  14. Sorry- I'm typing on my iphone!!!! Don't judge all my typos!
