Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty Applicants 2014

Hey everyone! I couldn't find this thread anywhere so figured that I would start one for all of us who applied to Vanderbilt's Pre-Specialty Entry program (for non-RNs) this fall. I applied for the PMHNP specialty. What about you?! :)

Anyone know whether they order the waitlisters? Or when the deposit deadline is?

I got in for psych pre-specialty. See you guys in August! Someone should maybe make a Facebook group?

My stats: 3.5 GPA, 166V 159Q 5.0AW for GRE. I had a little over 2 years relevant research and clinical volunteer experience as well.

I asked the woman I talked to if I had a number for the waitlist and she said no.

Ok, another update. I actually went over to the SON and talked to Admissions personally. YAY I got in! FNP Pre-Specialty.

Moving on from that to update you guys on where they're at. So, they told me that they are printing all the papers today. This new system is all types of crazy. They will start printing and sending letters out tomorrow through Thursday. Your status will not be updated until YOUR SPECIFIC letter is printed. This means that you may or may not know until Thursday.

I just called them. The lady looked me up and said they still haven't made the decision.. told me to call me back Friday. Ugh, I hate waiting!!!

Mzur, I'm freaking out, how did you find out you were in for psych? Did you call, is it on your page?!!!!!!!!!

I was just told to call back on Friday as well, that my application is still waiting a decision and maybe it will be in there by then. Any other FNP/NMW people hear anything?

Also, I called about the fafsa. I don't want financial aid but I thought we had to fill it out still to be considered for the partial nursing scholarship. Turns out you just need to be admitted and don't need to fill out fafsa to be eligible for that. If someone else has a different understanding though, let me know!
