Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty Applicants 2014

Published

Hey everyone! I couldn't find this thread anywhere so figured that I would start one for all of us who applied to Vanderbilt's Pre-Specialty Entry program (for non-RNs) this fall. I applied for the PMHNP specialty. What about you?! :)

I called too. They said around March 1st. They are a little behind because it's a new system. She also mentioned that besides letters, the online application portal system should also update with a decision.

@mzaur - thanks for checking in with them. It's a relief to know that the online system will update too!

Does the online application actually show any status at all for you guys? Mine changed from "in-process" to "submitted" when I finished it back in November... but it hasn't changed since. Did anyone get a status change to with faculty for review?

Or for those that have already been accepted... did your status change to accepted?

Now I'm really curious!!!

Mine still says that as well!

Mine says submitted.

The lady over the phone did seem not too confident that the online system would work properly because it's their first time using it, lol. So it may not update. But don't worry guys. We will know soon enough.

My application page has not changed either. BTW, Yale seems to use the same system for their applications. When I received an interview, there was an update on the application page. Right above where it says "verify address" there was a bold text "Status update" with a link. So look for the update at the top, if it should work.

I kinda got a kick out of the application page when I realized that it says that the status of your application appears below... but that section doesn't actually appear anywhere. Oh well!

I think they're referring to the checklist at the bottom of the page, but otherwise, mine still says submitted. It's pretty clear I'm not being accepted, since I applied for CNM/FNP and haven't received a phone call. Vandy wasn't my first choice, so I'm not stressed about it, but it would be nice to have a final answer. Fingers crossed for all of you hoping for big news from Nashville!

@mzaur, I tried to send you a PM but it claims you have chosen not to or cannot receive them :(

I cannot send PMs for a while :/ Could you add me on FB? I added my FB link on my profile page. Tarra, can you add me too?

Consider it done. :)

Hi all! I just found this thread and I'm glad for the company- I had my interview for NMW at the end of January and received a call that I was accepted less than a week later, but I'm waiting for my official letter before I share the news outside my family. (For NMW only, I think if you haven't received a call yet you're probably not in, but could very well be waitlisted- they only accept 30 students on the first pass but the waitlist is apparently quite long and moves fast.) I know the Open House is mainly targeted toward prospective applicants, but I'm planning on going anyway since I've never been to Nashville and I'd like to see the campus/city and meet the faculty before I make a final decision. Are any of you other Fall 2014 applicants planning to go? Or have you gone to one in the past?
