Georgetown Fall 2015 CNL
Hey... IDK if anyone will even see this since it's from last year, but I was wondering if any of y'all had any advice/pointers/stories about the program that might help me decide whether to take their offer or go with one of my other options... Georgetown is pretty expensive, but the student:faculty ratio is incredible (which I suppose could be a really terrible thing though, as well, if you don't get along with the professor)... I'm really struggling with making up my mind! GTown is by far the smallest cohort of my options. How did the year go for you all?

Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty Applicants 2014
I kinda got a kick out of the application page when I realized that it says that the status of your application appears below... but that section doesn't actually appear anywhere. Oh well!

Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty Applicants 2014
Does the online application actually show any status at all for you guys? Mine changed from "in-process" to "submitted" when I finished it back in November... but it hasn't changed since. Did anyone get a status change to with faculty for review? Or for those that have already been accepted... did your status change to accepted? Now I'm really curious!!!

Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty Applicants 2014
I finally got antsy enough to call about my FNP application yesterday afternoon... she looked me up and said that my application was still "awaiting decision." I asked her about the email that went out estimating responses on Feb. 24th, and she said that they are "expecting letters to go out at the end of the month." I'm going to give them another call Monday afternoon and check one more time... I don't think it'd be considered too overly zealous to call a second time, since they predicted that day for decisions anyway... right?

Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty Applicants 2014
Hello guys... I've been trollling the boards since November trying to get a better idea about how the application cycle is going. It's been pretty slow! Well, I finally decided to introduce myself and join the conversation. I wonder how many of us are lurking but never posting? IDK, haha Anyways... I applied to the FNP program. Filled out my application in November and submitted it prior to the priority deadline. One of my recommenders didn't submit her letter until the 6th though, so I'm not sure if that means I missed the priority deadline or not. Just because I know I'm always really interested in what other peoples scores were... I'll throw mine out there for conversation. I got my bachelors of science in integrative health science from a small liberal arts college, and graduated with a 3.7 GPA (or 3.66, depending on how its calculated). As for pre-reqs, I got A's in A&P, Stats, Development, and my 11 credits of Bio/Chem... but I got B's in Nutrition and Micro. I think I did pretty good on the GRE. I got a 162 (90th) in Verbal, 156 (74th) in Quantitative, and a 5.5 (96th) in Analytical Writing. I think my scores seem like they're right around the other posts I've seen on here. Hopefully they're competitive. I did have a 6-month clinical internship with an FNP my last semester of undergrad, and I think my references were pretty strong. I opted to send in 3 letters from faculty, and 1 from an FNP who I used to work with prior to school. I'm non-trad, so I had some career experience beforehand. Anyways, just thought I'd say hello and contribute what little I could to the discussion. I haven't seen many FNP applicants on here at all... I wonder if they're chatting somewhere else? Who knows. Either way it seems like PMHNP is the trending specialty this year. I hadn't heard from them since I submitted my app, so I sent them an email confirming submission last month. Heard back from them Jan 16th that my file was with faculty for review, and then I got an automated message saying the same thing on the 24th. I haven't been contacted for an interview, but it looks like maybe FNP applicants aren't doing those this year, so I'm not stressing on that too bad. My fingers are seriously starting to cramp though from keeping them crossed for three months now! I tried to apply last year in my junior year (there's an obscure rule somewhere that says you don't technically need a bachelors to be admitted, haha) but was told to re-apply when I finished my BS. VUSN is my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice... so I'm really excited to hear something! Time is seriously dragging right now. I'm trying to keep myself busy, and I'm working on applications for a couple back-up schools... but at the end of the day this is the only program I really want to be in. Best of luck to all of you!!!

Who is applying for Linfield this go around?
I got waitlisted too... initially I was devastated but the more that I think about it, it's not such a bad place to be. I heard that they have 30 people on summer wait list and 30 people on fall, and they roll over any people left on it to spring. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us :)

Applicants to Portland area schools 2011
I got my waitlist letter in the mail too... not the best news, but it's better than a rejection I suppose :) I put all of my eggs in the Linfield basket, so I'm keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed! If anyone else is on the waitlist and gets an offer, post it on here so we all know there's been some action! Does anyone know what percentage of waitlisters actually get in? If the wait for the first letter didn't kill me I think this one might...

Checked out some programs while visiting...
Stay as far away from the for-profit schools as you can! It's a big scam, if you look at the federal reports and the graduation statistics (not to mention post-grad employment rates and salary levels). Stick with a non-profit (regionally accreditted) private or state school. You'll have a much better experience, and receive a better education to boot.

Who is applying for Linfield this go around?
I'm applying this year also... this site looks fun :) Does anyone know when we'll get letters? I've heard April 15th-23rd-ish. I hadn't planned on applying anywhere else, but I'm thinking I should probably apply to the main campus as a BS in psych (I want to do mental health nursing eventually) is my second choice, and I don't want to miss the application deadline waiting for the yes/no letter!
