Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty Applicants 2014

Hey everyone! I couldn't find this thread anywhere so figured that I would start one for all of us who applied to Vanderbilt's Pre-Specialty Entry program (for non-RNs) this fall. I applied for the PMHNP specialty. What about you?! :)

Am I the only midwifery specialty person freaking out? I'm assuming that since I didn't get a call last week that I'm waiting for a letter to come in the mail that says no.

Not, hopeful, you're not. I'm a CNM applicant and haven't heard anything at all and I am definitely worried about it!!!

Hey y'all! I applied to the CNM/FNP program. I submitted my application Dec. 1st, but one of my professors didn't submit my recommendation until Jan. 2nd. On Jan. 24th I got an email saying my application was going to the review board. And this morning I got an email for an interview! So looks like they aren't done reviewing applications yet. Don't give up hope.

Well, I already interviewed--before some of the people who've already been accepted--so I'm assuming it's a no for me. I'm planning to go elsewhere, but it still bruises the ego a bit. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Thanks mzaur, you're right! I got in somewhere else too so at least I know I'm not going to get my heart totally broken, although Vandy is my top choice.

super nervous for my interview tomorrow. To all of you who have already interviewed and haven't heard yet, I wouldn't worry. I keep telling myself whatever is meant to be will be. It helps for about 2 minutes :)

So just out of curiosity (and because it was killing me not to know) I called admissions this morning and asked when PMHNP decisions would be mailed. This is the response I received "Honey, we know that other programs have begun sending admissions decisions. However, PMHNP and FNP are larger specialties and have a high volume of applicants. There aren't any decisions going out this week that I am aware of in those fields and I would say they will be sent out end of next week at the soonest." Now at least I won't be running to the PO Box every morning this week.

I had an interview on Jan 31 for CNM and no call either Bummer.
