Hello everyone! My name is Dustin and I am looking to apply to Vanderbilt's critical care nurse residency track. Specifically CVICU. I thought it would be a good idea to start this forum as applicants can come together to discuss about the application/hiring process and to assist each other.
Applications open in a few short days (July 2nd)!
I looked forward to speaking with you all!
Hey! I got offered the position lol finally! But now I'm conflicted because since being waitlisted I've gotten so many other interviews. I don't want to pass on a good opportunity but I want to weigh all of my options. How did you decide what was a good fit for you? we're you able to get an extension on your offer (5 days isn't enough time
Wow! Really? I'm making more than that now as an LPN. I've already been offered an RN position where I'm currently working. They'll credit me half of my 15 years as an LPN for experience. I'll start at $31/hour.
I was interested in this program thinking I could start my RN career off right with excellent hands-on training in their Nurse Residency program...but I can't afford a pay cut.
Hi everyone!I'm a new grad from the Fall 2018 group in the NICU, and I thought I would share the pay information, since you won't receive that unless you get an offer, and I searched high and low for that info. Starting pay is $23.05/hour. Night differential is $3.00/hour 7pm-11pm and $3.50/hour 11pm-7am. Weekend differential is $6. Good luck to you all!
I know this thread hasn't had much activity lately, but I was wondering if anyone could comment on whether they've been hired for a day shift, and if so, what area?
I am considering applying to Vandy's residency next summer, and I know days are hard to come by, but I've heard it's possible (probably more likely in some areas than others).

Hello! I was offered a position in the CVICU. The application process isn't bad with Vandy (probably the most pleasant application process I have experienced during my career hunt. I also went through Hopkin's process). You being a tech in the ICU will definitely help you! I was a tech in the NICU and, even though the patient population wasn't adults, they saw it as critical care experience.
Just make sure your resume and letter of intent is squared away and you get awesome LORs from instructors. You'll do fine!
