Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Winter 2018

Published

Hello!

I am graduating in December and I have the summer off so I've begun looking at potential places that I'd like to work.

I'm thinking I'd like to do a nurse residency because I want to work in a pediatric Critical Care setting (PICU or Peds ER) and I feel like having that whole year with someone helping me and that I can ask questions without feeling like an annoying dummy.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone here was looking at Vanderbilt's Nurse Residency for February 2018? I'm not from Nashville, but I'm also not too far away as I'm from North Alabama. I'd appreciate any tips about the residency or about Nashville!

Thanks

Just waiting on one more reference to come in before I can submit! This waiting is killing me, I just want to send it in already.

Also make sure you check your spam! I didn't see it at first because it was in my spam folder.

Hey y'all! I am currently in my Capstone Program at Texas Children's Hospital in the Cardiovascular ICU. So, I applied for the Pediatric Cardiac ICU for Vanderbilt! It's been difficult for me with the job hunt d/t there being few October cohorts & trying to apply out of state. Fingers crossed though! Good luck everyone!

Hello!

I was just curious as to where everyone listed their contact info in their letter of intent? I did not know what would be the best because I have heard of several different ways of doing so!

Thanks!!

I have never heard of contact info IN the letter of intent, but maybe under your name. I did not put my contact info on my letter of intent because I had no idea that was a thing. I looked up several types of letter of intent before typing mine up and none had contact info anywhere on there.

just got scheduled for my interview for the med-surg track!

Congrats! Stupid question, but did they call you and if they did was the number visible to you? I had a blocked call recently, but I never give out my cell phone number to random people and they didn't leave a message.

That's awesome! Congratulations!

Yes it was a visible number, it was Nashville Tennessee a 615 area code

Congrats on the interview! I hope we all hear back soon!

Hey - I'm in an Accelerated BSN program and graduating in December. Vanderbilt is my number 1 choice and I applied to the adult surgery track. I have an interview on 8/31. I'm flying down from Boston in hopes it shows my level of interest.

hows the process going for everyone else?

I heard that the interview process is a panel of 2/3 people and behavioral interview style questions. I'm pretty nervous, but excited. I'm trying to not get my hopes up too much in case I'm not offered a spot....

They specifically emailed applicants and said that there was a need for adult surgery. So, you have a high chance of being offered a job. Good luck!
