Vanderbilt Nurse Residency 2015

The application for the Vanderbilt nurse residency for February 2015 will open in August. Who all is applying? Does anyone have advice for those of us who will be applying?

Ah, I fell in love with Nashville. Those Smoky Mountains were something else! Steep as heck! Watch out east coasters who are driving to Nashville. I took a different road on the way home and it turned out to be worse. Far worse. HA! I'm glad this interview wasn't in the dead of winter or else it might have been the end of me. If anyone is getting a hotel, ask if they have a Vandy rate. I saved $50 a might over the AAA rate by saying I'm in town to interview with Vandy.

Now we wait until December 1st. I hope it doesn't take that long, because I have several interviews between now and then, and I would hate to say yes to them and then be offered Vandy.... :angrybird13:

Hello NewYorkerGirl!! I am exactly on the same boat. btw I am also from NY but I did the Skype interview. Glad you loved the city. I wanna go there also.. hopefully if I do, its because of a job offer!! Good luck to both of us!! So glad to hear that theres a good amount positions open :)

Had my interview yesterday, the staff is very nice and considerate, good luck to everyone, hopefully we will hear some good news in early December!

Hello Everyone!

I'm so happy I found this thread! I will be interviewing Nov 7th at 9 for the trauma ICU! I'm getting kind of nervous to interview because I'm one of the last interviews, so lets hope for the best :) I'm so happy to hear many of you are also out of state--I'm in Ohio!

Less time to drive yourself crazy replaying your interview over in your head. Tracey said there's a ton from out of state, including myself.

Very true! Does anyone know how many people that accepted in the Trauma ICU, or I guess any of the ICU's with their last cohort?

I'm horrible at interviewing too. I'm so jealous of the people who only need 1 or 2 interviews to get a job. What's their secret??!! I have to go to interview after interview until I've collected enough typical questions to formulate enough canned answers to get the job.

Is it December 1st yet?

haha, It's not even NOVEMBER 1st and I'm dying! I had my interview last Tuesday for the Pediatric Critical Care Track and everyone couldn't have been nicer. It was great meeting Tracey and my panel of 3 made me feel very comfortable even though I was so nervous! I feel like it went well as I had scenarios for each of their questions but we'll see I guess. Now it's the waiting game.

Also, there was a girl who interviewed at the same time as me named Dani- I meant to get her email so if she happens to see this contact me. :-)

I loved my day in Nashville though. Landed at 7:30am and flew out at 8pm! Hoping to head back in a couple weeks for a few more days, or maybe in December or January to find a place to live :-)
