Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program Summer 2017

I know I am WAY ahead on this, but I just wanted to see who all was applying for VUMC nurse residency program in the summer 2017? The application opens up on December 9th and I want to apply for the Adult Critical Care Track! If anyone has any tips on the application, please feel free to comment! :) I know it's a long time coming, but I just want to see who out there will be applying!

I also was given the opportunity to interview for another track, but I have a different job offer for an ICU, so I'm going that direction. Best luck to you all!

Same here! I have interviews for Tristar Centennial and Tristar Skyline so I'm hoping to get offers from them through the critical care track!!

Yeah I haven't heard back either, so I don't know what's going on. In past years, they've at least let you know if you didn't get an interview. I'm looking in other directions now because I can't put all my eggs in this basket, even if I do end up getting an interview.

What areas were left to interview on? I know when I selected my new track there weren't many options to choose from :(

I just heard back today and the email stated these were what I could interview for:

  • Both Medical and Surgical Adult Acute Care
  • Adult Cardiac
  • Behavioral Health at the Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital
  • Adult Perioperative Services (this would be part of the Perioperative Nurse Internship Program)

I just heard back today and the email stated these were what I could interview for:

  • Both Medical and Surgical Adult Acute Care
  • Adult Cardiac
  • Behavioral Health at the Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital
  • Adult Perioperative Services (this would be part of the Perioperative Nurse Internship Program)

Looks about right. Either way, I'm thankful for the interview.

Anyone get an offer for the Acute Adult Surgical Track?? I got an offer which I'm very excited about but concerned with the salary they are offering. Doesn't seem like enough to live in Nashville... any thoughts?

I'm so glad I found your post! I just got an offer for the Acute Adult Surgical Track and I was wondering how you liked the program and if you had any thoughts on the salary. I noticed that it's a lot lower than I expected and I'm nervous about trying to support myself in the city with such a low pay. Thanks!
