Hi! I'm starting a thread for Vanderbilt MSN Fall 2019. Anyone else applying/re-applying too? Please comment!
Has anyone seen any changes on their "Application Status" page? The text at the top says to check that page "frequently to check on the status of your application" but mine has looked the same as it did when I submitted my application at the beginning of the month. I'm starting to psych myself out that my application somehow got lost in the digital void...

I had an interview (CNM/FNP dual) but no changes were made to my application account. Yale uses the same system and seems to update it more often, ie they put their interview request on there. I think Vandy just uses it to eventually let us know our status (in hopefully 80ish days now!). Although the woman I talked to said that some specialties send out physical letters.
I had my interview for CNM Prespecialty Masters on 11/20. Only 15 minutes seems so short, but my interviewer covered a lot of questions in that amount of time. She also told me we will receive decisions in mid-February.
Ahh, can't wait!! I'm wondering now if I should apply for a few more schools as back ups.

Congrats on the interview! They only accept 25 CNM students, 16 pre-specialty, 9 current RNs. I HOPE you get in, but if you have time to apply to a few more programs There are more schools that have deadlines that have not passed (Simmons, MGH, NEU, UMASS Worcester). All are in Massachusetts, I didn't looke at many out of state programs.
Good luck!!! I can't wait for February :)
Wow! I had no idea the class was so small. I guess that the interviews must be a big part of the decision process then, instead of just a "sanity check" that the applicant is a real person. Do you happen to know around how many people they interview each year?
I've also applied for UCSF, Yale, Seattle U, and Columbia, but none are exactly "safety" schools.

Okay PHEW, I didn't want to scare you but my friend only applied to one school. Her professor didn't submit the recommendation on time so now she is out of luck. Glad you applied to other schools.
Did you interview at Yale yet? I felt like my interview with Vandy was the complete opposite of Yale's interview.
I did ask on my interview how many applicants they interview and she did not know.
Yes, I did both interviews already, and totally agree with you. Complete opposites! Yale was really friendly and chatty, while Vanderbilt was just firing off questions and not even giving any indication about how the answer was received.Did you apply anywhere else?
That is SO weird, my Vandy interview felt way more laid back. During my Yale interview I almost asked "was I selected for this by accident??" haha
I applied to MGH IHP, Simmons, NEU, UMASS, Yale, Vandy, and Regis. Vandy and MGH are my first and second choices.

Hi everyone, I'm applying direct entry AGACNP. I was just wondering what email you guys have been using to contact admissions with questions? I used the nursing one and haven't gotten a response. Thanks and good luck to all!
