Hi! I'm starting a thread for Vanderbilt MSN Fall 2019. Anyone else applying/re-applying too? Please comment!
yessss....but I can only speak to the CNM (certified nurse midwife). They do it per department so if you applied to a different program it may not be out yet so don't panic!!!!
I applied to a different program but got excited for the CNMs out there! I'm just excited to hear any news even if it doesn't apply to me, lol.
Hi! Did you apply to the CNM program or the CNM/FNP program?
CNM/FNP - the interviewer said that you may be admitted into one, both, or none. The FNP program does not interview. They rely on your personal statement, resume, etc etc. FNP has about 75-90 students.
To anyone who DID NOT get an interview request yet: do not worry! The interviewer told me they do interviews in the order people submitted their applications. They will continue to do interviews through the first week in January most likely.
Reconfirmed that they are on track to send out final decisions by mid-February.
For CNM there will be 25 students, 1/3 are the direct entry route and 2/3 are pre-specialty non-nurses.
I had an interview with another Univeristy that was intense. However, within the first few moments of my call with Vandy I felt so comfortable and confident. I think it goes to show how amazing their faculty are and it makes me want to get accepted even more.
Good luck everyone!!!
FutureCNM8, glad to hear your interview went well! Did they seem like there would be any benefits to going to the interview in person, or were they good about doing it over the phone? Did they give any indication how many people applied (especially for CNM)? Thanks for sharing what you learned!

I was only offered a phone interview, didn't realize in person was an option. If in person is offered I assume it's only for local students but that's just a guess.
I didn't ask how many people apply. They did say that getting waitlisted is still good news because many applicants apply to multiple schools so they do end up accepting some waitlisted students. That doesn't directly answer your questions but I hope it helps.
Good luck!!
I have not heard or received anything via email. I hope we hear something before Dec.
I dug DEEP into the threads from 2018, 2017 and 2016. Although I did not pay as much attention to the PMHNP comments I am fairly certain they started getting interview requests in early December.
Good luck!! Only 84 days until they *might* make their admission decesions ha!

Thanks, FutureCNM8! I appreciate you digging. I'm hopeful that I will get an interview invite earlier this time around compared to last time since my application was in before the priority date.
