Hi! I'm starting a thread for Vanderbilt MSN Fall 2019. Anyone else applying/re-applying too? Please comment!

I called, and was informed that no decisions had been made on recipients, and she didn’t know the amounts of awards at this time. She said decisions for that scholarship would go out in a week or two, and we would be notified then. She reiterated that “not everyone who applied for the scholarship would receive it.”
Yeah I was told they are only going to have 6 recipients out of the Nursing school, Medical school, Law school, Peabody and business school....TOTAL

Yup. I googled the scholarship awhile back, and yes, they are evidently starting with 6..then will progress to 40 a year. The donation was $25 million, so I am thinking that this scholarship might be BIG. Good luck to everyone!

Prespecialty is the classification for those applying without an RN. So just wondering if you meant something else? Truly just curious!
It's hard trying to figure out all the verbiage.
Thanks! And yes the verbiage is confusing! You’re correct about the requirements and yes of course I’m an ER RN. I do not have my BSN, so I’ll be doing the ADN-MSN entry options. Which requires PreSpecialty courses for 2 semesters before I begin the MSN coursework. There is a non RN PreSpecialty option too. But like you said, that wouldn’t be an option for the ENP specialty. ?
I'm in for direct entry WHNP (distance)! I apologize if this was covered earlier in this thread but does anyone have thoughts on how all-consuming this program is? I currently work 3 days a week, am finishing up an online BSN program, have a small child, and take on most of the household responsibilities (in other words, I feel like I'm running ragged all the time!). I'm hoping I can make this program work but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't really nervous. I can likely go down to 2 days/week at work so I can devote 3 days to school (plus evenings and maybe a weekend day or so) but I don't know if I'll be able to keep the stamina up for two years. If anyone has any insight I'd be most appreciative!

I am pre-specialty and know we aren’t supposed to work. I’m going to the info session on Saturday I’ll let you know if I hear anything about working while doing distance direct entry.
Hi :) Long time lurker, first-time poster. :) Am I the only one who hasn't received their admission decision? I submitted my application 10/31 and haven't heard anything — no emails, no updates to the portal. I tried calling admissions yesterday and they just told me "your application is still under review." .....shrug, but also hurry up lol

I didn’t hear until yesterday and I it seemed like everyone else found out last Friday. I’m sure it’ll be any day! So frustrating though

From my understanding if you're full time you're doing clinical 3 days a week and then online classes full time on top of that. I can't imagine being able to work even 1 day a week and doing this program full time. If you're doing part time it's probably an option.

Do you know if the waitlist is ranked? With Yale it is unranked and if a position becomes available they reassess the whole waitlist.
